I am deeply sadened by the retirement of the Great Dr.Pearce! But, I am more mad at the fact of not having any notice what so ever of his retiring. I like many others I am sure am left with the fact that no other doctors here in our area are not taking on any new patients. I have a son with challanging needs who now has no doctor to visit or any way to recieve the proper checkups or regular meds he needs to deal with his disabilities.I have also been waiting to see a specialist in St.John's and because the appointment didn't get mad before his retirement I am now left with the search for a new doctor to take me as a patient and start the whole proccess all over again! What is a person to do? I think something should be done to help us out before someone gets gravly ill or worst, someone dies.

As a matter of fact Im delighted and wondered what took so long for Dr Pearse to retire. We dont need doctors that check your breast when you have a cough. We need new doctors with new technology. Times have changed, and so has doctor and patient relationship. We need doctors that care about their patients. Not doctors who just write prescriptions and send you on your way.
I do agree on the fact that we definitely need doctors in stephenville and also technology to support the people in the area.
Residents have to be sent to cornerbrook or st.johns, I think that is rediculous.
