I think it should be dropped because when people get into collage and turn 21 they want to drink drink drink as a fellow underager I know what it is like to drink drink drink Some kids do it because they are drunks but most kids do it because there is nothing else to do. If it is changed to under age maybe up a limit on it like you can only go to the bar until a certain time until you tune 21. Or you can't go to a liquor store and buy booze and take it home until you turn 21. TUNE IT TO 18 NOW!!!!!!

I don't think changeing the drinking age will change kid's ideas on drinking... It's against the law to drink underage, so kids drink because they are sooo "cool" to fight the law. Then when its finally legal, they go over board and drinkdrinkdrink because they can, and they aren't used to such responsibility. I grew up with an unlocked liquor cabinet in the kitchen. My dad let me try different wines and alcohols as a teen. He made his own beer, and let me try it. All in small quantities yes, but it got me used to the idea of alcohol, big deal, its another beverage. I honestly think that if more kids were raised like that, they wouldn't be so inclined to drinkdrinkdrink once they came of age.

Quote from the article: "All right, then make the age of entry into the military 21."

Ahh, but the government would never do that. It's far easier to sucker a poor little 18 year old into the military than to sucker an older person who already is in the midst of college or a job.

Sorry, but I think those are the same thing. If you have to drink because you have nothing better to do, you are a drunk.

America is one of the few countries in the world where one can get a death penalty at 18, but cannot legally drink a beer in a bar. The country has its head so far up its sqeamish, politically-correct a$$, it makes me sick.

In Austria and Germany, minimum age for beer drinking is 16, 18 for booze. German law allows beer drinking at 14 if going to the pub with parents. Those are reasonable rules. On the other hand, we make it a forbidden fruit, so teeagers are much more likely to sneak it and abuse it. American hypocritical squeamishness sucks.

Minimum drinking age is 16 in Germany and Austria, 14 in Germany of with parents, none in Italy and Thailand. Yet, I don't see nearly as many messed up young people in these countries as I see in America. We live part time in Thailand and in Bavaria, so I know these countries fairly well. Instead of preaching god, guns and greed to Americans, maybe the country should just allow people to have a beer.

i thinnk tht the drinking age should b 18 because the only reason they dnt really wanna change it is because they dnt want kids to end up hurting themselves but when ur 18 ur aloud to go to the military and risk ur life so its no dif. than bein able to drink at 18
