Diabetes and BCAA

I am 30 year old male with type 1 diabetes. I have fairly good control of my diabetes and the average of my last four A1c tests have been around 6.7. I exercise regularly and my diet is well balanced for the most part.
I have been reading about the benefits of branch chain amino acids (BCAA) for athletes and body builders and have been wanting to try BCAA for myself. I have read mixed reviews of diabetics taking BCAA, as it may hinder the effectiveness of insulin. Other reviews say that it is fine for diabetics. It seems to me that the research is not adequate for diabetes.
Before I purchase the expensive BCAA and potentially put my diabetes at risk, I would like to know if anyone in the field of endocrinology have any insight on the topic.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to your response.
