I have always had controllable, mild acne. A couple blemishes that would heal within a few days and would not leave much scarring. If there was hyperpigmentation, it would fade within a month or so. I have always lived in a tropical climate and was deployed to the desert. In the desert, my skin was very dry and moisturizer was essential. Once I returned to the island, I noticed my face was a lot oiler than it was before I left. Mild acne become moderate and worse. I've tried proactive (which always worked before) and am on retin-a micro (for 2.5 months now). It seems that retin-a worsens the acne. I'm very prone to hyperpigmentation from the acne now. I just to understand why my face has become much oiler since returning from the desert. I notice when I'm in dry climate, my skin will start to clear up.

i have the same problem. i was in the military and i have been stationed on both coasts. i've never had a big problem with acne until i relocated to south texas. to make matters worse i like to do outdoor activities like flag football or soccer. my acne is the worse its been. 2.5 percent benzoyl peroxide was working but i discontinued it after reading it can promote skin cancer.

i have a similar problem -- but kind of opposite. i've never had acne, like you i had a few spots here and there. i'm from colorado which is mild and relatively dry. i've moved from colorado to scotland. and now my face is absolutely covered in huge horrible spots that look more like angry blood blisters!!!:`( and they're the huge horrible painful swells, bright red, and my skin stays read for months wherever the old breakouts were!! i'm not a particularly vain person but it's so horrible to look at that literally i'm on the verge of tears whenever i put on my makeup (mineral power, really the best you can use as far as i know if you're going to use anything...)

i'm hoping someone who has gone through a similar situation might have suggestions????

I have similar situation here myself. I was born and raised in india in a relatively dry climate. Never had any problems, being a guy I would get complimants on how gud my skin looks.. but ever since i moved to canada when i was 14, i've had acne ever since.. its been 10years and i hate it.. i don't think i've ever had a completely clear skin.. i've tried a lot of things.. it sorta controls it but then all of a sudden i get another attack.. don't knw what to do.. tried eliminating certain foods.. i drink plenty of water.. things i've learnt from the internet..

I went back to india for 6weeks after 9years and my acne was definately controlled again.. i looked fresher and better.. got complimants when i returned that my face looks clear again.. but nw here again it has started..

I lived in Canada my whole life until this year; while in Canada I only had mild acne during my teenage years. I moved to Indonesia, and after living here for about 10 months I now have horrible acne all over my back - huge pimples that take a long time to heal, and new ones always developing! I think it must be the tropical climate...

The acne on my back is worse with summer heat & humidity but my face seems to get worse when cold and wind dry it out. I found a lot of useful info about my acne here, including the importance of non-comedogenic moisturizers--and that you may have to try a couple to find one that works best for you.

I moved to the Arizona desert from the Midwest. The longer I stayed in the desert, the worse it got. (I am 30 years old-- I thought I was done with this acne stuff.) My skin went from having mild pimples occasionally to full-on black heads and white heads that I can't get rid of. I am on Tazorac, and Oracea. I have had a mild facial peel. Nothing seems to help.

I'm 30 and just recently moved to Texas from Michigan. Since I have been here I've had horrible acne/zits breakouts on my face. Never in my life have I had so much skin problems. I was curious on how the climate may effect such things.

When I was a teen I had bad acne, but around 16 (when I stopped growing) I stopped having bad acne and had only a few pimples here or there. It was that way for seven years and then I moved from Cali to Connecticut and now it seems like I have big flare ups all the time. Also I had mild psoriasis before I moved and now it is horrible. During the winter it even gets on my face. I eat healthy... mostly organic, mostly fruits and veggies, pretty much no red meat, plenty of water. I just don't know what to do.

I can deffinately relate to all of these stories! I have been struggling with horrid acne for the past 5 years. I used to live in Maryland but now live in Florida. I have to say that when I was still in highschool I had some issues here and there but nothing I couldn't control. Ever since I graduated my skin has errupted and I've been dealing with it ever since. Ive totally changed my diet to a more healthy and organic one. I take a multi-vitamin and omega 3 plus drink lots of green tea. For all of you who take vitamins I encourage you to do your homework on them and make sure you get good ones! I have been using the ones from cvs and never really got good results. I started a new brand today called New Chapter, so I'm crossing my fingers. I am about to move to Colorado in about 2 weeks and I am praying that will help clear my skin.

Oh yea I also wanted to say that I notice my face stating to clear up when I visit Maryland. But unfortunately I don't stay long enough to notice a huge difference :(

I live in Tennessee but this semester I study in Cairns Australia and ever since I got here my acne has been through the roof insane and there seems to be nothing I can do to control it. I had little acne back home and it was easy to get rid of. Will my face possibly return to normal when I return home?

Last year, my acne was terrible. Like realllyyyy bad! Then once summer hit it cleared up fully ! The sun is proven to help acne. And it does for me. Anyway i used to live in connecticut. Now that i moved here to las vegas nevada, my acne got sooo horrible it is insannee!! Worse than it was before! So its wierd for me cuz i went from havin acne, to no acne at alllll, to a shit load of acne wen i moved. I wud love some help.

Well my big move to Colorado got majorly postponed so I don't know how the change in the climate will affect me. I read alot about Obagi Nu Derm and decided to give it a try. Basically its a system that resets your skin. Not only do I have acne, I also have deep scars. I've been on the Obagi now for about 6 weeks and I am satisfied with the results so far. I still have my good days and bad days but I am having fewer breakouts. I have also changed my multi vitamin and my omega3 to a higher value vitamin which also seems to make a difference. One more thing I would like to share is that I use a micro-needling tool by glama roller. This tool is used to promote collagen and seems to be doing its job so far. I've been using this tool for about a month and have noticed my scars getting more shallow. Most people report showing dramatic changes within 3 months of use so I am going to press on and hope for the best. I hope this helps!

I have lives in San antonio Texas my whole life and had very mild acne. Then I went to miami for five months and started getting acne on my chest really bad. Went back to texas, it all cleared up. Now Ive moved to maryland, the first six months my face was fine, but then all the sudden I have the huge "underground" kind all over my face that take so long to heal. I am on Retin-A right now and I use clean and clear oil absorbing wipes. After the initial breakout, it cleared up completely for two weeks...and then BOOM! Even worse then before. Its really taking a toll on my life, I dont want to leave the house. I also am about to turn 21, I read about Adult-Onset acne and im not sure what I have.

new chapter vitamins are great. I found an article that tells why. I've been using them for years.
