Why do you ask - is it connected do you think?

I had a similar problem on my penis. I'm uncircumsised and had irritations on the foreskin and the glans too last year. Went to the doctor and he told me to use lotrimin for 2 weeks. That worked but then the problem came back again after a week or so. So I went to the dermatologist and she prescribed some steroid cream which also worked but as I stopped using it the problem recurred. I decided to visit a natural local market and asked the lady which is a nutritionist she also works with herbs and natural remedies. She told me to put a mix of extra virginin olive oil with 100% tea tree oil couple times a day for 7-10 days, she told me it would kinda burn the skin a little but then I would try Desitin for about a week after the treatment, washing only every other day to give the skin time to heal and recover moist. I tried this, guys, and I must say it worked very well, it's been a few months now and I haven't haave any recurrents episodes.. I also used oral candigone treatment while doing the topical too. Good luck to all!

I'm actually doing some research on the stuff I have changed before this happened. And protein shakes was one the things. But of course I'm just assuming.

I have the same problem and I've tried Bactrium and Neosporin and they both seem to work well for me but no matter what the cuts, redness, itchiness, and scabs keep coming back. This has been going on for at least 6 months and it's driving me crazy!!!

I drink protein shakes all the time. What have you found?

Anyway I know how you poor bastards feel. I'm goin through the same thing right now. I had a rough night of lubeless sex with my wife(about 3-4 weeks ago). Next day had a cut under my head on the right side of my shaft and didnt think it was anything. Next day had sex again and the the cut turned into a mess. Kinda puffed up and got a little itchy. So I then started applying neosprorin on it. Well that relieved it temporary, but did notice it wasnt working that great so I tried hydrocortizone 1% for a day or two didnt see a big difference, then I tried some bactrine I think..... that didnt work to good then I applied some aquaphor. After the aquaphor it looked way better and I was like ooo yea! Well had sex the next day and POW the spot got real red and itchy. Puffed up more than the last time.
So my wife and I started talking and we came up with "maybe a yeast infection" she was on antibiotics at the time of ruff sex. Anti's can cause yeast infections in females. So I had some nystatin in the cabinet threw some on the shaft and it started looking better. Then I found this website and from the post I went with the vaginal cream theory.
I picked up not one but two packs of Equates Miconazole Vaginal Anti fungal cream from Wal-Mart. 1-7 day pack for me and 1- 3 day pack for her. So if you are going to do the treatment might as well take care of your partner at the same time so you two don't keep spreading it back and forth.
Heres my status I'm on day 1 and it feels way better already..
so I will keep all of you informed on the progress in a couple days. At the same time I am now using cetaphil to wash my genitals and I am also blow drying it on cool. Every time I apply I try to wash the area. I did apply at work today and used alcohol wipes to clean the area before application of the cream. I'm now looking a powders to keep me dry down there during work hours since I work in a warm environment.
Oh and no sex for at least 8 days. So if you are going to try this method make sure you bang it out before you start treatment.

so amazed I found this on going topic. I've been going through this for over a year. I thought I had an STD, my doctor told me it was a rash, and my partner thought I was crazy or cheating. First, I did Neosporin...nothing, Then I tried Hydrocortisone....DON"T DO IT! It changes the skin color of your member because it thins the skin...After that I tried Monistat-7 relieved itching but not the flakiness or rash appearance. I just started putting Hydrating Lotion on my member for the past week, it seems to be helping slightly, but Just bought a bottle of PSORIASIN GEL...OMG after 1st application the itching and burn/tingleness stopped. I have a feeling this might do it. I hope. Another med friend of mine who's focus is the genitals....basically said he believes it's another form of male gential psorasis known as Lichen Planus. Google that if it looks similar to what you have try the PSORASIN gel.:) I'll update you as I progress

yea me too i have irritation when i pull my foreskin back. i have never had sex just oral like 2 yrs ago.
my doctor says that its jock itch but ive had it for about 2 months.
my doctor says its not an std and he is sure its jock itch which im starting to think its not.
i have gotten tested for stds since i had that oral job.
i had noting but they didnt test for herpes.
so i was freaking out thinking that it could be but my doctor assured me its not since i dont have the symptoms and all. just its more mental since u know u see redness on your penis and automatically the word herpes pops in the head.
ive had creams baby powder and its getting better but i mean ive had it way to long.
im 16 and i hate that i have whatever i have.
i cant stop thinking about.
any other skin disorders that it could be?
possibly an inbalance of yeast and sugars. Try thrush cream

mine started off as dry skin then after a week or so developed into small cuts and redness. I think mastubating made it worse. just wondering if anyone else went to the doctor for the same reason, and knew whether or not it was serious?? thanks

So far so good! Cleared up for the most part. I have a little spot from where the situation occurred. So my guess would be a yeast infection. I'm going to get some skinz tonight! We'll see What happens. Good luck to you all.

Just started having these problems looks like its going to be pretty tough to deal with by reading this forum. Any way to dtermine if its fungal or psoriasis? Is there distinct difference between the two?

Well guys I have had the same problem for about a month now. Tried everything and nothing worked. Started looking around the house to see what else I could try and found some Balmex for diaper rashes. Fellows it made and difference with two applications. Hope it helps you all out.

I've had a very similar problem since April. Tried a bunch of creams from doctors which haven't helped much. At one point in June it was more or less gone, and I made the mistake of having sex with my girlfriend (to celebrate the healing of course), and that brought all the irritation right back. Obviously a stupid move. We've since discovered that having sex much less often (when ewe can't hold out anymore pretty much), and keeping it quick and using condoms helps to keep it from getting any worse.

On the positive side, I've had a lot of luck with the oil of olay that someone mentioned a few pages back. It's gone from a bunch of red patches to just two small pink spots in around 2 weeks. Unlike the last time it was almost gone, we're not going to jump right back into having unprotected sex right away, and try to ease back into it once it's been gone completely for a while to make sure it's all healed up. I'll definitely keep everyone updated with my progress.

I do have a question for all of you though. Are most/all of you having unprotected sex just before or while you have this issue? The reason I ask is because a dermatologist suggested I have my GF get checked out, because even though she doesn't have the symptoms like I do, he suggested that maybe she's carrying a strand of yeast that maybe she's not sensitive to, but that I may be oversensitive to. This would make sense as unprotected sex seems to be the only thing that actually makes it worse. I'll let you all know if anything comes from this as well.

I think it has to do with the shaving cream I recently started shaving to keep it smooth and I got what looked like inflammation under the head on the right side I had sex recently but I had a condemn so I'm sure it's nothing like herpies or an STD because everyone is having this problem I hear neosporn helps and that makes sence but I'm not sure but is everyone having this problem shaving or using any shaving cream because shaving cream and ur razor could be doing this even tho I don't shave the head cause theres no need too the cream may cause irratation I got it bad at the moment because wen ever I get an erection I have to stop what I'm doing cause the right half of my dick hurts so much ima try to stop shaving and try neosporn hope it works fast because this is retarded.

Glad the Olay Rejunanist is working for u too. He still has faint flair-ups though. We use the Olay cream, keep it dry and use polysporin. I'd love for it it not come back, but at least the skin is getting thicker and the sore is much much smaller. It's healing, but it's o so slow... We've been married for 24 years so yes, unprotected sex. He's been checked and I've been checked. Of course, they can't check for everything, but I've had some training in STDs and know basics. Ours is not lichen planus or any other STD I'm familiar with, but just because it isn't an STD doesn't mean it can't be spread, you know? We use latex condoms (not while wearing the creams though) and are gentle. And, to make a bad pun; we're going to beat it -- together. Hang in there guys. You're girls are with u.

Pleeeeaz go see a doctor. If u can't afford a doctor, go to the health unit and get checked out. You already know something isn't right. See if they can help u.

Try using Cetaphil lotion. It is OTC and around 10$. Use it after the shower, after working out or when you feel like it. Good luck
