I've never really had a skin rash or any allergic reaction on my skin until about 2 years ago. I started getting these itchy red dots. The symptoms are basically like fungus, poison ivy/oak. Starts out as a red dot, can get bumpy. And if you scratch it, it gets worse or spreads and it seems contagious(only on my body). When its severe, it scales and lumps up and if you scratch it, it oozes...jus like poison ivy but i'm not in contact with any. If i start gettin these rashes, it'll usually appear in other areas of the body. Its the worse around the arms, hands, legs, feet area. Will appear on other areas of the body but will go away in a couple days. But in the feet and hands area, will usually be more severe and stay for a few weeks and soemtimes a month+. The weird thing is, I've been getting this in the beginning of summer, around spring and at times during summer. it usually begins right before and will go away completely by winter and will not occur until the following spring. Remember, this problem has never happened until 2 years ago and now, its kinda consistant. Is it allergies, heat rash? the over the counter stuff dont' really help and it itches like crazy, but i don't scratch it. I've tried benydryl, hydrocortizone, calamine lotion...doesn't really help. But it does take away the itch at times. thanx in advance

its psoriasis. psoriasis is often to occur at the joints of the body. You have all the symptoms of psoriasis, and i'm sure.
Most patients are told that they have Poison ivy when they just find out. Later on, they are told they have psoriasis. This is because in the early stage of psoriasis, it is similar to Poison ivy, thus doctors don't know whethers its what. Most people have this. 2% of people in Canada have psoriasis. check it up on google and see if it looks like what you have on you skin. As you may not know, im a expert in the studying of psoriasis, maybe because i have much experience of it also. First thing that made me know that you have psoriasis is that: It mostly is known to occur at the JOINTS of your body (ex. elbows, knee joints) But it can also appear anywhere else on the body. psoriasis is a large patch of scaley red skin. I suggest that your condition of psoriasis is going to turn mild and maybe severe. Which means the skin is going to be more dry, and more itchy. Well, itching is one way to stop it. But facts are proven that people with psoriasis are more affected with itching and pain in the Cold seasons such as winter. This can also occur in the summer too. psoriasis is NOT contagious, so your twin sister will 99.9% not get affected by psoriasis, BUT psoriasis is known to be a genetic disease. I don’t know why this happens at night only, but one reason may be that of the temperature. If its cold, most people do feel pain. Its not a reaction. I have 2 reasons for having psoriasis 1. genetics 2. Stress I know this might be silly, but having stress can really affect your immune system. When you have psoriasis, your immune system is one of the cause for getting psoriasis. Your immune system is the central system that controls the body from getting sick etc. Trust me, many of my patients get Ok amy. One possible explanation is psoriasis. check it up on google and see if it looks like what you have on you skin. Your body tends to build up and doesn’t know where to release all the stress. Therefore, you get psoriasis as a outbreak. I personally had psoriasis when i was in grade 5. Its hard living with it. I got rid of it after 2 years. And no medicine did not help me. The ULTIMATE CURE was a homopathy medicine which was Sulphur. Do not actually use sulphur. Talk to your doctor about it. The creams doctors give you is used to soften up the psoriasis thus not causing the pain which you get. |

I had the exact same problem a year or so ago. I woke up one morning after camping and had the little red bump that looked like a bite. It then became a scabby patch of rash from all of the scratching and it spread all over my body. It lasted 2 years, and I tried everything - I even went to the dematologist, but to no avail. In the end, the only thing that helped is rubbing the disgusting yellowish gel from inside the aloe-vera plant onto all of my rash patches. It cleared up in a matter of days! I also tried the aloe-vera stuff you can buy in a bottle, but that didn't work, so it has to be straight from the actual plant. I still get the rash come back up every now and then, but it's very rare, and now I know how to get rid of it. I hope this information helps out some people like it helped me, I would have loved to have found out about it earlier!

Nikki, great idea!
Just got some questions about the aloe-vera. Where did you get the gel from inside the plant? Was it from the leaves or what? Please tell us more :D |

WIthin the past year I year I have had two very similar outbreaks on my arm. It starts like a small insect bite but within a day or two it becomes more noticable and extremely itchy. It looks like a small red circle shading in, and has 5 small bumps (4 surrounding 1 in the middle). Recently my mother told me that when she was pregnant with me in 81, she had herpes, but the doctors, at the time did not know what it was. If that knew they would have suggested a cesearean section, but rather she had me vaginally. I am afraid that as a baby I was exposed to Herpes, and have it in my blood stream. I have only had one sexual partner, and he had ne diseases. What do you think I have? By the way about 3years ago I had a similar outbreak in my pubic area. It was on the part where there is the most hair, right about the center of that area.

hi, for the past 2 months, i have been getting large lumps all over my body that are very itchy. It started when i took a shower i would have huge lumps all over my legs, so i htougt maybe it was something in my shower. Now i get these lumps everyday, on my legs, on my arms, on my feet, my back, everywhere. Even the right side of my top lip will bulge up (happened 3 times). I have no idea what it is. I cant think of anything that i ahve changed in my eating habits, or my soaps. When a spot will get itchy i scratch it and it just spreads and spreads but eventually goes completly away. Anyone have any idea what ths is!?!? thank you!!

Same thing happened to me a year ago. It felt like a mosquito bite, then I scratched it and it got the bumps and then it looked like a path spreading up my arm to my shoulder. Now they appear on my abdomen and arms and in patches on my legs mostly AFTER I get OUT of the shower. I went to the doctor and was told it was exzema.

Sounds like it could be chiggers -- tiny bugs often picked up when laying in grass. They burrow in skin and create a bug bite like a mosquito but sometimes bigger and itchier. They'll eventually go away. I've heard you can cover them with nail polish -- that it suffocates the bug inside and speeds recovery. |

Wow, your mean to this person. Are you just bitter with your whole life? Maybe your the lonely stupid-head with an ugly ol' face and a body so ugly you wish you had a skin rash to cover it up. |

I had a similar reaction about a year ago - it lasted almost a year before I finally found someone who could help me - a dermatologist in Maui (the last of several I had seen) and he told me, simply, that I had atopic dermatitis. That I should NOT shower or get into any clorinated water (the ocean was fine - but not to shower afterwards), it recommended a mild steroid cream (trianclonazole sp?)- a 1 pound jar of it! I put in on twice a day for about a week, followed his advice (didn't shower or bathe used the cream) and it got better - much better (I could finally sleep an entire night). That was a year ago. Now, I still have the cream and use it rarely (once or twice a month). I have a filter on my shower and I stay out of pools. When I sweat, I still may break out - but nothing like before and I run or bike almost every day. I was ready to kill myself a year ago and today it's just fine - more than tolerable. I saw everyone, spent thousands on creams and natural treatments changed diet many times, you name it - I had it for eight months and the itching was so bad I rarely got more than two hours of sleep at a time. I took massive narcotics - anything - but itching is an autonomic response so I would open my skin in my sleep - it was horrible. Best of luck!

Dee, you have heat urticaria. A simple antihistamine will stop it. Take it a few days before you travel and whilst you are away.
