i am a 22 year old female, i have a 4 year old son, i smoke but i am not on birth control. about a year and a half ago i got a bump under the skin on my right lower leg near my shin bone about the size of a quarter, a little time after that i got one on my left leg same spot but closer to my shin bone and that one is the size of a dime and a couple of months after that another one showed up of my right leg again on the opposite side of the leg and that one is the size of a golf ball. they cuase me alot of pain, make it hard to walk long distances, and hard to stand for long periods of time. i've been to my doctors for this already twice the first time he ordered a ultrasound to check for blood clots i went through with it and they found none. i just recentley went back and now he has ordered a x-ray to check to see if its something to due with my bones since there is so much pain. he told me to take advil for the pain and that has not helped my pain.

make sure you get checked for thyroid disease to be on the safe side, those symptoms sound like mine and I was just diagnosed with Graves Disease or Thyroid Disease, the lumps are rare but do not hurt

What you have sounds like nothing to worry about.
It sounds like from your description it could just be a cyst. They are generally harmless. I am getting this from my doctor as I have one on my elbow. Do you find it can sometimes change in size? Mine does, and only whn it gets to large it is slightly painful to either bend my elbow or if i press on it a little. As I am only 17, mine may be slightly different. And when this first appeared I was around 12 and my doctor told me being young it should go away on its own. However, if it doesnt, i can op for surgery to have it removed. It is not necessary for it to be removed as it is harmless. Though, you may still want to check with your doctor, being on your leg could cause more problems.

If it,s small bug,s invisible in nacked eye, but may in werry sunshine seen tinit spot, it could be bug living in you cloth and skin. I ask you to do next. By 38-40% ethanol engaht for whole body bath 35 liters and take a topical ethanol (vodga) bath 45 minits a day and one week periode, and give a bath also all clothes you want to keep, including handlers of you handbag, wallet,s all cloth, and rest put in fire, in time of bath newer use a cloth has been onto you, and doing so you are free with a week, but remember destroy all clothhes you has been used before, because bug eat tini pease of skin in you cloth as well a skin.
Do not use any hexisid, like lindane, permytrin, pyretrin, they are expensive and does not work, before bath you can try cold wather bath, and topical alcohol, but its take away only with bath i told you, alcohol can be in bath one week with no change, because alcohol distroi a bacterias, fungus, bugs all from itself. experiensed. and all cloth have not been with you in bath must put in fire, also matress, all bed linen, towels, all its all or you get it again.strigly order please.

During the night I will take long walks and I have never had never had anything hurt while walking. One night I was walking like usual and I got this sharp kinda of pain in my leg. And I thought it might have been because I hadn't walked in a couple of days. I cut my walk short that night because my legs were hurting me. When I got home I saw a lump under the skin on my left and right leg. In the same spots. So I pushed on them and they were what made my legs hurt. When I pushed on them and moved around the lump it felt like it was making a creaking kind of thing on it. After about 30 min. they went away. But I still can't take short walks without getting them. Any suggestions as to what it could be?

Okay I need some help. I'm only 14 years old, not on birth control, or any other prescription drugs. Tonight I noticed that on both legs about an inch under the knee; in the same area I have large lumps. They're both hard and sensitive to touch. I showed my mom and she thought it was just a muscle growth, when I showed my eighteen year old sister she said he seemed like some kind of swollen bruise underneath the skin. If anyone can please help me, contact my email adress: dancingpatty96@yahoo.com

Thank you!(:

I know this is a few years too late, but it sounds like you and your children have/had scabies.

Since February, 2006, we have experienced itching especially at night. I have noticed almost clear, red, and black "things" on our skin, the size of a pinpoint. I have seen them in my 3 year olds stools and in our hair when we wash it. We are itching in our faces (eyelids, around mouth, behind earlobes), arms, between fingers, behind shoulder blades, upper buttocks)...they also bite hard. Our 8 year old wakes up with mosquitoe like bites on his legs. We have had an exterminator three times and have even moved but are still experiencing these things that seem to fly into your face from wooden cabinets, paper...What is this and how do we treat it? PLEASE HELP US.

I have done alot of research into these lumps and I agree with Rebecca's comment, alot of your lumps sound like erythma nodosum. My daughter however has developed cyst like lumps on front of her lower leg, painless at first then they spread and swelling occurred around one in particular, now she has two more lower down on her leg and they are painful to touch. This has happened over a 2-3 month period. She has no discolouration to her skin though unlike others noted on here. She is awaiting a scan at present. Should be in next week or so. Will let you know the outcome.
i would like to know how the scan turned out because my daughter has these bumps too. I'm not even sure what type of dr. I should take her to. They seem to be like fluid fille bumps. any help is appreciated.

I as well have lumps on both legs in the excact same place half way down the shin bone. They do not hurt and do feel squishy like fluid is in there. I have not been to the doctor yet and am hoping it's not a blood clot. Im almost 40, female and am not on any kind of meds. SO not sure what this could be. If anyone can help please do.
After reading ALL 200+ comments, I've found a match! I'm 29 years old. I have had a lump on each shin area for about 10 years, now. I used to play soccer and thought it was just from it, but developed another small one, recently. Originally the pain was there when working out, but now they hurt even to walk. I've been going to a dr for PT which includes injections of lydocane (sp?) and saline followed by therapy (biorhythm). He told me to relax and not exercise for about a month. As for diagnosis, it's a lil tough as i'm in Korea so there's a language barrier. BUT he said it was from an old injury and the muscles are inflammed. Also to use flats rather than heels. i thought things were getting better...but 3 months later the pain is worse (even walking they hurt). did yours go away? what kind of treatment, if any, have you had? PS no smoke, no birth control, no children.

I almost died on Yasmin--not a good med for a 47 year old mom of 5 with a 30 year smoking history. I'd rather have the ovarian
