I found out today that this is actually Eczema. Yes that is what you have. A very slight case of it. It is when the body cant do a certain internal chemical. Anyway, the chemical can be found in a supplement called starflower.

I just talk to my older sister and she has the problem. She said the Dr told her to use head and shoulders Intensive treatment and Tinactin antifungal for athletes feet.. I put the head and shoulders on when I'm in the shower for five min around nose area then right when I got out I used tinactin. I been using this now for 2 days and it worked.no more redness and flaky stuff around nose area. I know it didn't get rid of it but it calmed it down a lot.

Same problem then some one told me anti-dandruff shampoo. First thought ,yeah right. Then after trying anti fungal creams to no avail gave the shampoo a go . Used Dentinox a cradle cap treatment shampoo for babies. It worked could not believe it! After 2months of itching.

The main ingredients are:
sodium lauryl ether sulphate 2.7'/.
sodium laurel ether sulpho-succinate 6'/.

Good luck

try the Rosehip + Hibiscus face serum from Made from Earth ( www.madefromearth.com ).

The rosehips will take away the redness and irritation. It worked for me.

Hi gang, time for an update.
A while back I started using rubbing alcohol as suggested by one of our contributors.
It worked well.
Then I got the idea to try those instant hand sanitisrs, the stuff you rub on your hands and it evaporates.
The active ingredient is ethyl alcohol, and it works !
I'm using Purell, here's the link.

Good luck to us all !!

Don't put things on your skin if you're not sure what they are for. Don't use anything antibiotic unless a doctor insists that you have to. Drink 2 liters of filtered water a day. Get 8 hours sleep a night. Don't smoke. Drink sensibly. Avoid sugar. Wear sunscreen every day. Enjoy healthy food. And if you need to after that, go to a dermatologist.you probably won't need to.

Update ---
Hey gang, the problam has gone away.
I have stopped using any and all remedies, and the situation is gone.
At last post, I was using Purell Instant Hand Sanitizer with Aloe, and I haven't used it in a few days.
Of course I'll keep us all posted with updates, ideas, etc.
Best of luck to us all !!

Sunday morning - May 15, 2011 ---
Condition is back, I am hitting it with the antibacterial skin cleaner.
It's a cheap fix, considering that nothing else has worked any better !!
I'll keep you all posted, as always.
Best of luck to us all,
Rocky

HI medi,
thanks.. what soap do you use?
and how long does it take before symptoms will reappear by stopping
thanks
joel
Hi Joellie,
Sorry for not responding, I was pounded with my college finals... Anyway, I use any type of soap that has moisturizer in it.
And once the symptoms go away, it takes about 10 days for it to start reappearing. So just use it 2 times every 10 days and you shouldn't see it.(That is how it is for me. The amount of days could be less or more for others.)
Even if it is less days, the Synalar medicine will last you several months before it finishes.
But still you should ask your doctor about Synalar (I think you have to get it prescribed to you).

I looked up Synalar on the web.....
Synalar is a corticosteroid used to reduce itching, redness, and swelling associated with many skin conditions.
Seems like it's a prescription med.
It has a ten day run for Medi, which means that it doesn't cure the problem, it just retards it.
So far we haven't found anything that actually works to CURE this problem.
Anyway, we're all helping each other, and that's a good thing.
The antibacterial skin cleaner is working for me.
I applied it on Sunday and it's under control again.
Cheap fix. Not a cure, but it's better than nothing.
Best of luck to us all,
Rocky

thanks medi..
first I try some others but have it on my list.. cause it is a chemical cortostorid.. but if nohting gives full relief I go to this. Do you think your skin is thinner on some areas as a side effect?

HI Rocky,

Do you have 100% normal normal skin while using the hand sanitizer?
On the longecity forum I spoke to someone who raves also about this but according him it only works in full remission in the eyebrow area.. just curious.

Hi joellie,
Yes, my skin returns to normal, or very close to normal. If you don't know where to look, you'd never suspect.
I hope that answers your question.
Best of luck to us all,
Rocky

What is left a little - the redness or tiny teeny flakes?

joellie,
The flakes are gone, and the only 'redness' appears if I 'stretch' my skin and look closely.
Otherwise, my skin appears normal.
The antibacterial gel seems to add a smoothness to my skin also.
Best of luck to you !!

I also have the same condition, red between the nose very itchy, its now going under my eybrows and into them, my internist told me to go to a skin dr. but I think there may be something natural to heal
