Hi,

my 7 month old son had baby acne outbreaks on his cheeks with pustules when he was 3-4 months old. The outbreaks usually lasted for 1-2 weeks, but 2 pustules left red dots that remain 3 months later.

We're grateful that this little thing is the biggest worry we have, but we're anxious to know what exactly these marks are, if and when it will go away, and if we can do anything about it.

As a side note, our boy also has angel kisses on eyelids and forehead and occasionally mild eczema on his cheek. Not sure if this influences this.

Thank you for your help,
Jules

My seven month old boy broke out in a rash on his cheeks and in the crevices of his neck. It seems to get worse when he cries or gets upset. The rash seems to intensify off and on. I'm on a waiting list to see a ped. derm in about 5 months(I have lousy insurance). I can't believe i have to wait so long:( Does anyone have any ideas on what i can do for my poor baby's face?

Hi did you ever find out what caused your baby to break out? I have a 7 month baby boy with acne and red splothes on his cheeks and small pustules under his neck? The rest of his skin seems untouched. Unfortunately I am on a waiting list to see a ped. derm for 5months , i don't have very good insurance. I would appreciate any information you might have. Thank you for time. Val

My 7 month old daughter recently started having red bumps and small white heads mainly in the center of her face. I noticed that her face seemed to get worst after she would be brought in from being outside. My daughter also sweats alot and this may also triger these outbreaks. I did some research and from what I've read this is BABY ACNE. This is very difficult because I just want these bumps to disappear! SOON! Her father and I are taking her to see her ped tomorrow.

My son has had "baby acne" since he was about 2 wks old. He is now 5 months old and his poor little cheeks look worse than ever.( My other 2 sons also had severe baby acne but theirs went away much sooner) Some spots are bright red dots and some look like pimples an adult would get with white heads. He has been on Benzoyle Proxide for a couple months now and clindamycin but nothing seemed to help. So we went to a dermatologist today and the started us on some new meds. One cream goes on in the am and the other kind goes on in the pm and he also started him on an antibiotic. We go back in one month for a follow up.

Use oily soaps only and not bubble soaps. These dots are a version of 'Eczema'only.

Its been a year from this post. I was wondering what happened with your baby with this acne problem, mines under the same situations...he's been having acne since his 2 mos and now hes 7 and after a 2 month treatment with a ped dermathologist, no improvement still. Im thinking on changing the dermathologist. Im concern about possible scars :( very concern.

I have a 5year old boy and a 1month old boy. My 5 yr old didnt go throw this...my 1mnth old started getting bumps all over his cheeks and chin then they slowly vanished and his face started geting light in the areas where the bumps were. At first i thought it was from the milk dripping on his chin but then it startd happening to his cheeks! I`ve tried vaseline like the dr.said but its not helping and my son is african american so these light spots are very noticeable. HELP ANY1!!!

This sounds like a condition called vitiligo. I had similar when young, some go away on own in time but most will be there for life. Meds dont usually work but a dermatologist would be able to give proper info and advise.
