Skin on head of penis damaged from scraping during sex

Hello,

In the Fall of 2006, after a few months of frequent sex with my partner, the majority of which was unprotected, I had a little bit of "damage" on my penis. It's difficult to explain, but basically what was happening was that she was a "little too tight" and my penis did a lot of scraping during sex. At the time, I wasn't worried about it, and during the sex, there was no pain whatsoever, I was of course able to tell that things were a little bit snug, but never feared any dermatological damage would come out of it. It eventually got to a point where we decided to take it easy for a little while because I didn't want to create any permanent damage. I ended up having a doctor visit around that time (not a dermatologist) and brought it up to him. He said to grab some antifungal cream and give that a shot, I think it was Lotrimin. Anyways, I explained to him that I was completely positive that an infection was not possible, and it was due to frequent sex (scraping) with a partner who was "too tight". After a few days of using that cream, there was no real change, which didn't surprise me being that it wasn't any sort of infection. So I did some research on good moisturizers because that's what I felt I needed to use (not the antifungal stuff). I ended up using some Eucerin Lotion/Cream and after a few days, everything was as good as new. After all of this, we were more careful with the sex, we used some lubrication and the scraping never really happened again. Since that time, we have broken up and there has been a few more partners, and some periods of strictly masturbation. I don't know if I just never really thought of it or what, but the past few weeks, I have noticed that the head of my penis is either a little bit bright red, or a little bit darker than what it should be. There is no open sore or ulceration, no cut, no pain, no bleeding, no thickening of the skin, just the coloration/discoloration. There was never any of these things aside from the coloration/discoloration. Physically, sexually, I'm fine, no problems, it's just a mental thing. I just want the discoloration to go away. Obviously, after periods of sexual activity, the "bright" redness shows up, when there's not much activity, the "discoloration" is much less obvious. So my main question here is there anything I can do? Since this first occurred going on 2 years ago, I fear the discoloration may be here to stay. Is there anything I can do? I've had a few days with no sex, no masturbation and it seems to do the job, but what good is that? After sexual activity the redness will be there again. I do want to stress that when this all started, the head was taking the brunt of the scraping, there was a slight scraping on the shaft but the signs of that left long ago.

Thanks

Dude...go to the urologist and dermatologist - just be like look she was tight and it scraped and for 2 years now it changes color and stuff and he'll probably be like dude..that's cool but let's test for A B and C and you take it from there.

See with me, the HPV warts keep coming back after I get them chemically treated to cauterize the tissue and it dies...I wish this would stop. I'm about to go back for another treatment because after 3 months they came back to visit and I'll get them while they are still small because contact can spread them to your girl and she can get cervical cancer from it.

We only get one penis in this life. We need to take good care of the cute little guy. So many get it pierced and put it through so many other tortures.
Respect other men's penises. Be careful with teeth.
Love, cherish, nurture, and keep it clean.

@therocks Did you find a solution to your bright red penis problem? The reason I ask is, that I have the same situation as yours. My penis turns a bright beet red after sex, after masturbation and at other odd times.

I had no initial scraping incident such as you had, but the skin just seems flushed. It almost seems internal to me, like a physiological response. There are no bumps, peeling skin, itching or soreness like infections or stds might have. Same as you, it is a 'mental thing' and it bothers me more as a discoloration than a real health problem, but still I want it to go away.

I tried all the antifungal creams and nothing worked .. Cortizone helps the color fade a bit, but still sex isn't always planned in advance and I don't want to unexpectedly show my partner this big, red, raw-looking pecker.

I’m not sure what you mean by “scraping”– it is unlikely that your girlfriend’s vagina could actually scratch the head of your penis, unless she had some exceptionally coarse pubic hair. It sounds more like the two of you might have been passing a yeast infection back and forth; that would cause the symptoms you describe, and yeast infection can be recurring. If you only used lotrimin for a few days, it may not have been enough to get rid of the infection. Your best bet is to see a doctor for symptoms like these, including the red, shiny skin. In the meantime, you can help to reduce the chances of picking up a fungal infection by keeping the area clean and dry and supporting skin health with a penis vitamin formula (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil). Vitamins and moisturizers in a quality penis cream can keep the skin smooth and help protect against skin problems.

Good luck, and hope you find the answer.

The redness you are experiencing after sex or masturbation is completely normal. If you had an infection, you would likely have itching/burning, flaking skin, and/or a discharge from the penile opening. Redness by itself is not a sign of an STD, although if you are sexually active, it’s a good idea to get tested regularly anyway. Using a penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil) enriched with vitamins, amino acids and natural moisturizers can help to soothe the skin after a rough session, as well as promoting its natural lubricant properties and helping to maintain its natural elasticity.

Even if you have HPV warts surgically/chemically removed, there is a chance they will come back as long as the virus is in your system. But also, don’t take for granted that if the warts are gone, you will not pass on the virus to your partner; you can pass on HPV as a carrier even when you don’t have visible symptoms. Generally, the HPV virus clears up on its own after a couple of years; until then, it is best to use protection every time. You can also keep the skin of your penis healthy by using a penis vitamin cream (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil) designed with specific nutrients targeting penis health.

Hey did any of you guys ever find any relief? Most of us men had sex many times before in our lives before we ended up with this condition.

The glans is like wrinkled and red almost sunburned looking sometimes, then going to darker than normal, as mentioned above. I have to disagree with Dr_Mike's post. This type of redness and discoloration is nowhere near "completely normal"

Masturbation and sex seems to aggravate the redness. If you read the other thread with 1000+ responses some posters allude to getting this after receiving oral sex, which is how I think I got this condition.

To be honest I think this is a spreadable yet unidentifiable infection. I see Dr_Mike and company are big on the "Man-on-Man oil" as they sing its praises in every post. Maybe their company created this organism to make all the men in the world have this penis problem so we spend our money buying their "man-on-man oil" or try other remedies they pitch at us that most likely do not work.

Honestly I am shocked that none of the previous posters had any sort of urinary complaints. I wonder if they were heavy drinkers or if they were on some sort of pain medication or aspirin regimen that may explain why they did not experience any urinary complaints.

I have a question too have anyone of you ever developed spots on your shaft that you associate with this condition? Yuu can see them better when its erect. If you want to see the image of what it looks like search for Fordyce spots.

I never had them before I got this redness and irritation and other problems. The good news fellas is that I do not think most women even notice this stuff. Well not the ones I have been with, yowza!

Seriously though I have had a regular lady for years, even before I developed this condition, and she never noticed anything. I even snuck in a few fresh floozies here and there and none of the ever noticed anything either.

These problems come from being circumcised. Regrow your foreskin, and they will go away.
