I don't have a lump but i have a natural big forehead. Its embarassing and it seems to be growing. i am already 26, i don't know when it will stop growing. My nickname in school was "bighead", dunno what to do. I have inherited this from my dad, but his forehead does'nt look half as bad as mine. Its not any lump but its the skeleton or the bones or whatever.
Is there any way to have a normal forehead? can i prevent my children from inheriting this?

Grow your hair longer and keep the bangs over your forehead. Might not be your style, but neither is a big head.

I have kinda dry hair which sticks to my head, so no matter how long i grow i can't cover my forehead. I have already lost some hair on the front like most men do. Anyway, i will try your suggestion. I will tell the hairdresser not to cut hair on the front, lets see....thanks:)

I had a bump on my forehead removed this past Thursday. I've had it for many years and it was the size of a dime (hard and not movable). I went to a regular surgeon, not a plastic surgeon as my insurance would not pay for cosmetic surgery. I meet with the surgeon and he said "no problem, this can be removed very easily". On the day of the procedure I was given several deep shots on my forehead....oh my god...that hurt!!!!! The worst part was that on the last shot the surgeon shot some in my left eye. He did a quick eye rinse and went on. The area was numb...I did not feel the cut or him lifting the skin. What I did feel was him using an device to burn after the fatty area, it was like being shocked several times and the smell of flesh burning was unbearable. I don't have a happy ending and I'm extremely disappointed. When he got to the bump he said that he couldn't remove it because it was attached to my skull and that I would need a neuro. surgeon to get it out. I said, no way, never again, just close me up. Even worse the surgeon was in a hurry for a meeting, he was calling out to the nurses for #5 stitches and he waited only seconds before he said, where is it? and said I can't wait give me #4 stitches instead. I don't know what the difference is between the two. I had a large gauze wrapped around my head which I took off this morning (Sunday). The pain medication that I was given is a laugh (Tyneol w/codine). I had to sit up sleeping for 3 nights. The top of my nose and my eyes swelled up two days after the procedure. This morning my right eye was nearly closed shut. So now I'm left with a scar and a smaller bump because he burned away the fat, but there is no guarantee that the fatty growth won't grow back. I have to go back this Tuesday for him to remove the smaller sealed bandage on my forehead which will be replaced with another one. I don't know when my stitches will be coming out yet. I'm typing this and my head is pounding. Anyway, this is my story. Please don't get discouraged if you want to get a bump removed on your forehead or above your brow. I plead with you to get and demand a CT scan of the head to see where and how the bump is laying on your skull, especially if it is hard and not movable. I would of tolerated the pain, the swelling of my nose and eyes 100% if I knew that the procedure was 100%. If I knew that they couldn't ge the bump out I would of never ever did this. Why do doctors assume? Why do they assume they are God and say, "sure this can come out, no problem", not even nothing that the bump was attached to my skull. I think I have the answer, no I know I have the answer...it's all about money. He did the procedure and no matter what the out come was...he WILL GET PAID...it doesn't matter! I also have to pay the price a different price. I get to keep the bump and I get to deal with a scar for the rest of my life. Isn't life grand?
-hey.. sorry for what had happend to you.. but why didnt you sue him? lol

Hey everyone, wow im glad, i think- haha to have found this site. It seems like we are all in the same boat here? I too have a bump on my forehead. Its about an inch or 2 above my right brow and looks like I hit my head. its not red or anything but its about the size of 1/2 a gumball, the size of a penny i guess. Its hard to the touch, when I apply pressure to it to see if it moves, i think its my skin moving over the bump, not the actual bump moving-i think. My mom notcied it on me about 5 months ago, but my fiance swears its been there for years?? Im not sure? Strange that ive done my makeup, and plucked my eye brows for about 10 yrs now and ive never noticed it? to me, now that I know its there, I feel like its gotten bigger? maybe Im wrong? i dont wanna goto the dr, bc i get nervous, but it doesnt hurt at all, its kinda just there?? Any suggestions? PLEASE?

I have a lump in my left forehead about 1 inch from eyebrow for 33 years. It started with a 2mm soft lump, within a year, it grew to about 1 cm. Now its about the size of quarter. Sometimes, it seems very hard especially in the morning. It seems a little small and soft during the day. When I touch the one end of the lump, I can feel it moves a little. I do not know what it is. Any ideas.

Hey guys I'm the original poster of this thread. My lump was never resolved. It left my dermatologist and two of NYC's top plastic surgeons confused. I had an MRI last fall, and they could see the extra tissue but there wasn't alot they could do (having cut me open already). My plastic surgeon decided that injecting the area with steroids might help some, but after two injections I didn't see a noticeable change (maybe there was one though). Anyways, its been almost a year since my last Dr. visit, but I'm starting to get self conscious about it again - I might resume the steroid injections or try to see another Dr.

Two weeks ago at work I had a horrible headache (I get very frequent headaches) and a woman at work asked me what happened to my head. I didn't know what she was talking about and she said I had a goose egg on my forhead. I looked at it and it was a lump right over my left eyebrow, it was red and looked like I just got hit in the head. I thought it was odd at the time but the redness went away when my headache did. I have noticed the bump has been there ever since just not so red. Then this morning my husband asked what happened to my forehead, again waking up with a headache and I again didn't know what he was talking about. I explained what happened at work two weeks ago and had him feel the lump under the skin, he said I should definitely go see the doctor. I haven't been to a doctor (besides my yearly) in three years since my son was born. Has anyone else experienced these symptoms?

My lump is very small and quite soft, so if I press it it goes down a little. Having read a bit about it, it sounds like a sebaceous cyst? Went to doctor but he just said it probably is a cyst and not to worry about it. But I would like it removed!

Hey guys in the last 2 weeks i noticed a slight bump on right side of my forehead just above my temple its like a line coming from hairline down to my eyebrow. It feels like a bone, doesnt hurt or anything just recently started noticing it more, i do have a slight one in exact same place on the left side but u cant see it that side but can see it on right side. Its only noticeable when i show people but is it worth getting checked or is it just a bone or something, its not too bad now but if it gets bigger i will be worried :( Please reply soon thanks

I started to notice a little bump in the middle of my forehead a few weeks ago and at first I thought it was a huge pimple coming in. But here it is a few weeks later and it's still there. It has gotten a little bigger. Its a little painful and at one point, it was itchy. I have no clue what it is. I am starting to get worried... Has anyone had anything similar?

i also have it for like past 8 months and havent seen a doc..i am afraid to be diagnosed of cancer:$ bt increasing number of ppl have started noticing it and its emarassing to say its just a bruise that swelled up.....i have changed my hairstyle with hair to cover it lol and it swells up and becomes noticeable when i study or when i am tired due to lack of sleep....if its a fatty tissues and removed then it would lead a scar and i also dont want that....how much would it cost to be removed? is the pain of removing worth the treatment?

My skull was damaged by a massive blow to the back of my head, resulting in a silver-dollar-sized lump that the doctor said is calcium, which is the way the skull reinforces itself. It eeds to be removed, but is it removable?
