Lump on forehead

For about two years now I have had a slight lump above my left brow that never really bothered me. But the area was always susceptible to large painful cysts and last october I squeezed one of these quite hard. Post squeeze, the area scabbed and was red for about three months. With this redness the lump became a cosmetic concern and I approached my dermatologist who injected it with steroids thinking that it might still be a cyst; they had no effect. So a month later my dermatologist diagnosed it as a possible lipoma and sent me to a plastic surgeon to have it removed. Well,...I underwent the extraction and the plastic surgeon said he couldn't see anything. He even asked if I had underwent trauma in the area and I told him about the experience in october, but he said he didn't see any scar tissue either. Still perplexed, at my two week check up my plastic surgeon injected a needle into the area to see if fluid could be extracted, but there was nothing. So a month after this I still have the lump, a faint scar from the failed extraction, and both my plastic surgeon and dermatologist don't seem to know what is wrong with me. Any thoughts?

Hello Neil- I too have had a lump on my forehead for a very long time. Actually I cannot recall when I first got it. I must have only started noticing it in 7th grade. Now at 22 it only seems to be more annoying than ever. I too went to a dermatologist. He said that it is possibly a cyst (non cancerous) and all he had to say was "do you want a scar or a bump". So much for helpful. Anyways. I was just wondering if you still had it.

Hello to everyone. I am also 22 and a bump came up on the right side of my forehead when I was 15/16 yrs. I went to the derm. and he injected it w/ cortisone shot...It decreased in size. The second time he injected it, it got bigger. I never went back until today-to a different derm. He thought it might be fatty tissue. I'd always thought it was a cyst. He said cysts are moveable and this isn't. It's a hard, immovable bump. He believes it's immovable b/c it's attatched to something. Great, right? I told him that as my father's aged, he's actually been getting these bumps on his arms and back. He said those might be fatty tissue, too. He referred me to a plastic surgeon. Any thoughts? Neil, you do have a scar where the surgeon cut? Is it bad?

I just had both an unmovable bump removed from my forhead yesterday. The doctor called it a lipoma, a fibrous fatty growth. Mine was so tightly anchored into the muscle on my forhead that it actually felt to me like it was a bone mass. I may end up with a thin two inch horizontal scar on my forehead but I'll be much happier to have it than the bump. Mine was removed in day surgery with general anestetic which took about 30 minutes.

I've had a bump on the top right of my forehead. It's been about 4 years now and as large as a marble ball. I'm 16 now and getting comments on it. I'm tired of the bump. It feels hard but it still moves around if i aply pressure. I want to know if calcium deposits grow on the forehead.. or if it's just a cyst.

i got a lumb on my eyebrows going up throught my forehead. I had it for some years now and i dont know wat it is. since i got this lumb i keep getting headaches and it swells up in the morning or when i tired. I dont know what it is and i dont know what to do. I thought it might be a tumor but i dont know much. so if anyone knows anything about this kind of condition let me know. thanks

Hello everyone i am 18 and i also have a slight lump above my left brow for 3 weeks now and it seems to be bone.First i dismised it as something else but i'm starting to get a little bit worried that it could be a calcium deposit.I haven't seen any doctors yet but i fear they won't take it seriously.Wouldn't be the first time would happen.

I too like all above had a lump on my forehead. I worried myself sick for years about the endless list of possible things it could be. Then one day I went to the doctor and within two months I was lumpless. It turned out to be a piece of tissue fat.

The point i'm trying to make is that the most important thing all of you can do is go to a doctor. If it's nothing serious then you can finaly relax and start living again. If on the other hand it is something more serious then isn't it better to get the best treatment as soon as possible. Why wait? It's not worth the risk.

i also have a bump om my forehead my doctor said it was a calcium deposit and to remove it it will leave a scar. anoher docor said he could probably hide the scar in my hair line.

[Beleive me,scars is better than the bump.
Sometime if i am talking to people,they look at my forhead bum and think i am a nerd fro having it.
I wasn't born with it.

I had a hard lump on my brow-bone for years - I could feel it under the skin, felt like bone, immovable. When it started slowly growing and became visible I got anxious and saw my doctor - turned out to be a benign cyst. Doctor referred me to a plastic surgeon for removal, as it was on my face, and now I have just a tiny scar under my hairline.
As Martin says, the worrying was the worst thing. See a doctor!

I've had a pressure in the middle of my forehead for 4 weeks now. Saw the doc last week who thought i had sinusitis as my ears were a bit blocked + around my eyes felt a bit tender (but no phlegm or mucus or blocked nose or anything) anyway so ive been on Antibiotics for a week now + the pressure is still there + today a small hard lump appeared above my eyebrow... any ideas?

My daughter has had a very hard lump in the center of her forehead since she was 13. She has a head CT and they said that it was a "boney growth." It got bigger so we got it rescanned today. Waiting on the results now. It is hard and unmovable.

I have had a slight bump above my right brow for a few years now. Recently it seem to get larger then started to ache. I thought it was a deep pimple coming up so I squized it quite hard, and the next morning my right eye was completely swollen. Looked like someone punched me. I went to the walk in clinic and he thought it was the start of shingles, so he gave me some anti viral meds. Mon morn I went to my family doctor and he said it's not shingles it looks to be an infected cyst. So I went on antibiotics. The swelling has gone down but I'm having throbbing headaches now as the day progresses, extending out from each end of the lump. The top seems to go through my temple area, and the bottom through my right eye. It seems to be elongated now. Does any on have any insight or help.

Well i too have 2 bumps on my forehead and i dont know what to do!! Suggestions Welcome
Well i suppose i think i know how they got there being a young child and playing ruff maybe banged my head/forehead a few times parents didnt rub it down so it hardend and it looks wrong like i have a protruding forehead i mean without the bumps my forehead would look ok ,any suggestions
Is this the help of doctors or comestic surgery??
