Well, my dark skinned so idk bout the redish, bluish color I read in other comments. It's a lump on the left of my groin area. Doesn't hurt and I barley notice it but is worried it'll get worse. I'm 15 and a total virgin. Plus I'm to shy to have a doc or anyone down there..which brings me here

I have noticed that there are many, many people with this. So that makes me feel a little better however it is still very worrying.
Yesterday, I descovered that over night a lump had appeared under my skin. At least I dont thikn it was there before. It is in my groin on the right side where my thigh meets the fold of my pelvis. Right this minute I have a tingly feeling, almost numb feeling. Its weird. There is no redness nor is it swollen. You can only feel it when you press on the area.
It does hurt. It hurts when you press on it. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow but I need my mind to be put at ease till then. Iv read many stories on the internet and im very worried. Im only 17 and I have an active life, playing many sports etc.
I have no background of illness, the only thing I have every suffered from is IBS.
Can anybody help me? I would be really greatful.
What did the drs say?

Oh Thank GOD. Literally. I'm sexually active and thought it was something serious. I've been tested and my partners have been too, but could never been so sure. I am a male, I shaved down there and figure the first one on my right side was an in groin hair, it went away in less than a week. Then the one on the left appeared almost identically in the same spot.

I have just found a pea sized lump to the left side of my groin, I have only shaved twice, and that's with hair removal cream. I have had an ingrown hair before and I looked on the internet and it said to squeeze it. So I squeezed it and the hair popped out and I never had pain after that. But now I've found this, but I've had pain there for a week or more. Is this something serious, and its not a situation I can talk to my mum about, and the doctor is a family friend, which is kind of embarrasing, so I need answers off here please. I'm only 15 so I don't want surgery, or expensive remedys, just want this pain to go away! Please help!:'(

I have the same thing...My gynocologist made me an immediate appointment with a surgeon this week to have an ultra sound. She says it could be a hernia or something wrong with the lymph node. It is about the size of a walnut and painful. It feels like it is burning sometimes. I think any of you should see the doctor even if it is a sebaceous cyst or ingrown hair, if it swells up and hurts, its time to make an appointment.

I have a large lump in my pubic area very close to the area where my thigh meets my groin. I first noticed it a couple months ago. It actually appeared to be a pimple. I barely touched it and a lot of pus came out.(Sorry, disgusting, I kno)

In the weeks that followed, I noticed a lump about the size of a pea and seeing as how it "popped" previously, I assumed it would continue to do so. I squeezed it and a little pus came out, but nothing more. I had heard of sebaceous cysts and thought I could get rid of it on my own. I burned the end of a needle and poked it. The needle went right in and I felt no pain, so I assumed I hit the nail on the head.

Clear fluid, that smells AWFUL, came out, and some pus and blood. Now, 2 months later, there is still pus coming out. And sometimes, the clear liquid, but the smell is still there. The lump feels a bit larger now. Possibly the size of a quarter? I'm concerned that maybe the hard lump I feel is scarring caused by me constantly picking and poking?

I haven't gone to my Dr about it bc its too embarrassing. "excuse me Dr, I have a huge smelly pimple under my skin near my crotch"?? I'm sorry, but I just want it GONE!! I have even tried to cut it open with a razor blade, but I barely break the skin and it hurts. Plus, I'm scared I might do real damage.

Does ANYONE have ANY IDEA wth this "thing" is, and HOW I can get rid of it??

I forgot to mention that it has started itching as well. Almost like a pimple that hasn't quite come to a head? I'm hopeful this means its somehow "healing", but don't want to be too hopeful. Thanks for any feedback.

I had one of these a few years ago, and went to dermatologist who removed the thing, so no more flare ups. Just got another one recently, going to have this one taken out as well! It's just like a blood blister and hurts, annoying, on the inside of my leg. Best advice - don't try to pop any little blackheads on the inside of your legs near the top - this can cause this problem!

My 11 year old daughter has been dealing with this type of thing for a year. Dr. said it is cysts that have formed due to friction. Stay AWAY FROM TIGHT CLOTHES, underwear, workout wear, spandex, skinny jeans that will rub and cause friction. Buy boy shorts w/no seam in that area. Take hot baths with epsom salt. We have been applying tea tree oil to the area twice a day and it seems to help. I can't believe how many women suffer from this, it is like an epidemic. Do not wait until you cannot walk and it ruptures. Go to Derm, get it drained and shot of cortizone to bring down inflammation and be diliegent with being clean and hot baths/etc. Good luck to all.

Ive been getting these since I was 14, it's a mixture of things that cause them. My doctor says its linked to hormones as well as a combination of a blocked skin cell that gets infected. If you touch or squeeze them they'll get worse. They come and go I tend to get them around my period time. Try to avoid wearing tight knickers, tights or tight jeans and try to air it out now and again. They generally don't surgically remove them, just suck the inside out with a needle. Pop a hot rag on it ever night gentley, after a week you'll notice a difference. I get one in the same place every few months, I tend not it irritate them and they go away after about a week and half.

I have had this condition as well for about 10 years. A few weeks ago, I had one so bad that I was driven to create a concoction. So I researched herbs that were helpful in healing skin conditions. I made an oil infusion from things that I already had on hand in my kitchen: olive oil, turmeric, garlic, oregano and black pepper. I let it sit for a day before applying it and IT WORKED!!! By the next day, the cyst drained to half the size and the pain was minimal. Another one popped up yesterday and today it is half the size. I've used it on a few other skin ailments (rash, allergic reaction to a topical medication, poison ivy) with very positive results. Google each of the ingredients along with 'skin healing' and read how each of these spices help in the healing process. Here is my recipe:

1 cup of EV olive oil
1 TBSP of turmeric root, shredded (Natural Grocers carries it)
1 clove of fresh garlic, minced
1 sprig of fresh oregano, chopped
a few turns of freshly ground black pepper

Add together in a lidded jar and let it sit for a day. If you don't have fresh ingredients, use dry herbs and spices (reducing the quantities by half). BTW, this recipe also makes a FANTASTIC salad dressing base :)

well im 16 and i have one right above my left hip bone....and its sort of painful when im sitting for a while ( like how i am now trying to find answers lol ), and it hurts when i walk or curl up t night to go to sleep. Online i haven't read anyones complaints about their "lumps" being quite bluish as if it were a bruise or something. thats my case and it always feels cold. The coldness is the kind of coldness that yu get in your hand if youy raise your arm for an hour ( as if blood is draining out or something)- has anyone felt similarly??
Go to the doctor. Is it under your skin or at the surface?

Young anonymous girl, 13, please go tell you mom about this right away. She should take you to the dermatolgist and make sure it is not infected. My daughter had one that swelled to the size of a walnut before she told me. The Dr. can drain it and put coritzone in it to take away the swelling and pain. Please don't try to wait it out. Keep the area clean. Try applying tea tree oil to it twice a day (find at walmart) and wear loose clothes. Good luck Sweetie

Okay, i'm 13 and i've notice something similar to what i'm reading. I have this inflamed lump on my left side, right about where my leg joins my pelvis. It's pretty red and the size of a walnut. At first i had no idea what it was so i tried pressing it to see if maybe it needed to be popped. There's no whitehead on it. It hurts if i lean to my left when i'm sitting or walking. I really don't want to have to go to a doctor, and i haven't asked my mom about it yet. I've tried putting acne medicine and antibiotic cream on it but it's not helping. Cold compress didn't really help either. Advice would be great.
I have the same issue. I was told by a friend to take a ibuprofen or any pain reliever and break it down with water, rub the broken down partials on the lump and cover it with gauze & put underwear on. Do this at night and the swelling should go down in the morning. But still see a dr. It could be a cyst .

Mine sounds almost identical to yours. Check out the links in the comments. Mine was inflamed and became infected. The doctor gave me a high dossage of anti-biotics. It has been over a week and the infection seems to be lessoning. Don't worry or try not to. It sounds like it is a build up of keratine in the body. Take care, be well soon. Oh I take large doses of pro-biotics when on anti-biotics, to restore healthy bacteria and prevent yeast. Believe you will be fine, I pray and believe. Hope this helps.
