i have the same thing its been swollen for about almost a week now, it hurts to walk and sit sometimes and i've noticed if i wear underwear it gets worse. so i haven't been wearing any and it'll get better, its werid. i think im gonna go to the doctor.. just haven't had time yet. I noticed it started i think it was from my underwear, b/c i bought a new thong and put it on then, it was kind of tight but i didn't think anything of it, so i continued to wear it. After the next day or so this appeared. I've also had one before on the other side my bikini line about 5 years ago, and i still have a scar.

Hi I know I'm very late on this post but my fiancÚ has a similar problem.. He has been getting re-occurring lumps on his groin area the first one was about a year ago and every time he gets them he just pops them and they go away but keep coming back... Anyway last night he found another and tried to pop it but he said it felt like it burst underneath of the skin and now it's bright red, rock solid, and swollen up.. I am very worried.. He says he feels sick to his stomach now.. Is this something we should be really worried about?

i suffer from a condition caller hidradenitis superativa which i have had for 10years. Abscesses under my arms that grew to the size of a golf ball at times and leaked poison. In april this yr i was in hospital for 3 wks to have all the glands removed and skin taken from my leg and put on both my arms- healing fine, now i have started to take these in my groin area. seen my surgeon who states that they need to cut out the lump and take another graft from other leg and put it on my groin area..so fed up with it.

I am an 18 year old girl and I have had a lump like this for the past 3+ years. It is curretly about the size of a walnut, maybe bigger. It is also currently open and slightly oozing a clear/blood tint and sometimes a small amount of whiter pus. It has flare ups like this alot but it is painless and flat at other times. I went to the dermatologist for it and I am going to have it removed along with my pilonidal cyst (apparently they usually happen together). For me, this is the best option because it is extremely painful (both of them). I suggest going to a dermatologist to see what they say. Also, she told me that mine was a ruptured cyst.

This is very like a type of staph called community aquired mrsa ( a form resiliant to antiobiotics that end in cylin) ask ur doctor to culture it and said it to a lab. If it is staph get sulfa and a strong antibiotic like keflex. Take em together many times this stops the infections from recurring

I know a lot of these start out with "I have the same thing!" And not a lot of answers, and here is another one. Only I want to clarify exactly where this is because I say "groin" and by that, I don't mean anywhere near my vaginal opening which means it is NOT the bartholin thingy. It is right on my underwear line, I have one on each side of my leg and last night it exploded in my sleep and I woke up with blood everywhere. I am a picker and have tried to squeeze these things, there is nothing in there but pain and its really pissing me off because they won't go away. I think I am going to try the garlic pill suggestion and I also for awhile was taking tumeric root, chlorophyll pills and drinking an ounce of pure apple cider vinegar mixed with water...this seemed to help but I am 26 years old, why am I taking all of these freakin vitamins!?
Did you see any further results? Your regiment sounded like my type....Thank you

I have had these too. It's starts off as a red swelling just under my underwear line then it's becomes smaller, going purplish like a brusie. It only hurts sometimes and it goes away. I've had two before but they always come and disappear over 4 to 5 days. I'm not sure what it is.

Have read all the posts and am finding it very confusing.
I have one of these lumps around the size of a walnut on my left groin area. It is not red, it is not sore, it's soft, it appeared 2 days ago. I also have one the size of a marble on the left side of my neck (seems to be attached or close to my sternocleidomastoid)which is a lot harder but still no colour or pain.
I have been off and on medications this year and think they may have an influence. They include:
Lithium Carbonate, Sodium Valporate, Effexor, Mitazepine, Paroxetine, Lexepro, seroquel, imipramine, imovane, fluvoxamine, clomipramine hydrochloride, zyprexa, cymbalta, temazepam, valium, endep, clonazepam, vitamin D, Melatonin, oxazepram... plus others I cant really remember. A crap load of different benzodiazepines.
I also only get approx 3 hours sleep a night maximum, so my immune system is shocking.
Other influencing factors may be:
I have been pregnant previously
I have a mirina IUD
I eat healthy
I run 3 times a week
I dont know what other information could help.
... I wish that someone can help me. I wont get my hopes up though due to the complexity of the situation.
Thanks for your time & good luck to everyone!

Hope this helps.
What the other ladies r describing is not a Bartholin abscess/cyst ...Bartholin glands r located at the vaginal opening (they are responsible for vaginal lubrication in response to sexual excitement) so if there were an issue with the Bartholin glands the tale tale lump would be on either side of the vaginal opening. What these ladies describe sounds more like a boil or an abscess of one or more of the sweat glands in the groin called Hydrandinitis (?sp)

I don't think it is anything to be overly worried about but I do recommend seeing a physician. Sounds like a boil/furnucle to me...the are very common in areas of the body with high concentrations of hair follicles and sweat glands and usually need antibiotics to clear up completely..they can be resistant to treatment and grow to be very large and very painful requiring surgical intervention. Your primary doc would be good or if this is a frequent problem a dermatologist would be your best bet. Hope I was able to help u & ur man and hope he gets to feeling better soon.:)

I recently noticed a lump in right groin area where sweat would accumulate and skin became irritated. While applying a salve I notice a lump and it did have a small bloody discharge. Just returned from doc and because of the area, sweat, underwear he is pretty confident it is a cyst the got infected by an initial yeast fungus. I am applying a topical cream for infection along with a 2 week dose of antibiotics. My research tells me this is a proper diagnosis but obviously the are was of concern. Will know in a week or so. Wishing you all the best.

I have noticed that there are many, many people with this. So that makes me feel a little better however it is still very worrying.
Yesterday, I descovered that over night a lump had appeared under my skin. At least I dont thikn it was there before. It is in my groin on the right side where my thigh meets the fold of my pelvis. Right this minute I have a tingly feeling, almost numb feeling. Its weird. There is no redness nor is it swollen. You can only feel it when you press on the area.
It does hurt. It hurts when you press on it. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow but I need my mind to be put at ease till then. Iv read many stories on the internet and im very worried. Im only 17 and I have an active life, playing many sports etc.
I have no background of illness, the only thing I have every suffered from is IBS.
Can anybody help me? I would be really greatful.
how'd it go???
