I was saddened to hear about the death of a woman who was totally paralyzed by a chiropractic adjustment, who had to suffer with this condition for over 20 years. I am now retired, but my office was located in the Hartford area, and I lived in New London for many years. I knew Thomas Goulding, the chiropractor who was proven in court to have been responsible to have injured her so long ago.
He is an arrogant man who for the last 20 years has been able to lead a perfectly noermal life. As a doctor myself, I am horrified to think that that he had no remorse and took absolutely no responsibility for his actions. When she was awarded 10 million dollars, Goulding immediately filed bankruptcy and then went on his merry way, his practice never hurt, nor his marriage suffer and he lives in a nice house in East Lyme, CT. He must be so relieved to hear of her death. Now he could really forget about the horrible thing he did to Ms. Linda Solsbury.... but knowing Goulding, he probably already was able to put it out of his mind, without even thinking again of what he did so irresponsibly to Ms. Solsbury. And you have to wonder, with his attitude, how many more people did he injure over the years due to his complete arrogance. He is the epitome of what gives us chiropractors a truly bad name. |

Maybe we can all do some good. But not if we are all afraid to comment. That is what it is all about as far as I am concerned.

jim, and people have to ask -why are there those of us, like you and I ,who take a few minutes out of a week now and then to try to spread the word about the sheer quackery and institutional lies that chiropractic has become?
Unfortunately, the word does not get out, or listened too, before some quack doctor of chiropractic can maim or kill another innocent. |

There are still some of us out there who know the difference. I am tempted to just start cussing. I am trying to behave. I know it won't last. Nice to have you back.

I know the chiropractor really didn't mean to kill her. You can't make money that way. But from what I saw of chiropractic I think it could have been predicted.

I wonder how many people were sued to keep this thing quite. Probably not anybody. But I bet a bunch of threats were made.

She is an example of why no one should ever see a DC as a Primary Care Provider- a PCP.
The chiro who killed her did not mean too- but she is still dead. The word for that type of homicide is "manslaughter".(not murder) ( no intention to kill- just reckless disregard for the consequences). Once again an example of why I take issue with the claim that chiro is "health care"..... |

While it is VERY sad that this women has passed and through unfortunate means, again you should not paint with such a wide brush when describing the Chiropractic profession gentlemen.

Dr T let me tell you a story. The first adjustment I ever saw in Chiro school the guy got sick and couldn't stand up. He threw up. I was told by all around that he was retracing and would get better soon. I did not believe that then and I do not believe that now. From then on I was figuring a way out of this crap. I FOUND IT. I did not have it in me to hurt innocent people. I think you have that in you. I have it in me by the grace of God to fight you as long and as hard as I can for as long as I can. Another way I can say it in a way you can better understand is you can KISS MY ASS.

My experience was much different. People got well. I learned a lot and do NOT hurt anyone. Maybe you should have changed schools, I would have if that is what I saw. Why did you get involved to begin with? AND Jim, you're not fighting me... Well, I guess if that is the best you can do Jim... ...Pathetic |

There was alot of BS around that first adjustment I saw. The guy just turned white. Nobody was effected by this sight as far as I could tell but me. I wanted to REALLY help that person. I didn't trust anybody but me to do it. These people were real nut jobs. I did what I could. I knew I would never be able to buy this stuff. Now that I see them trying to be REAL doctors it just kind of makes me laugh out loud. Yea, sure they are. In the name of some kind of BJ Palmer other worldly thing. Give that KOOL-AID to somebody else. Maybe when the next comet comes around.

It surprises me that your first witness to the adjustment was at a Chiropractic school where people are learning. It also surprises me that you went and spent money to be something that you had no idea WHAT it was all about first. And, then to add insult to injury, it also appears that you were NOT careful which College of Chiropractic you attended. Jim, this sounds like a total recipe for failure. You should have been more careful in ALL of your decisions. Now, you are jaded, and hellbent on keeping others from the same. That's good (preventing others from doing the same dumb things you did), but you still paint the profession with a wide brush due to your ignorance. That is NOT beneficial to anyone... |

You know Dr. T let me give you an example. Suppose some "APE" student really believes they are suppossed to move the spinal column around so it shows up on X-Ray 10 to 15 degrees "shaved off" as you put it. Most chiropractors who are in practice for any length of time know this is BS and bad for bussiness. It's not going to make them any money if they hurt someone. But some true believing APE could damn near kill somebody. I have seen it happen.
