Anyway, back to the topic.
I too do not agree with these Maximized Living chiropractors. They're a stain on a great profession. You don't have to talk people into long term care when maybe only one visit will do. That's how effective chiropractic is. My goal with each patient is to get them better as quickly as possible and as cost efficient for the patient as possible. Like many chiropractors, I will even treat people for free if they can't afford it. And at my office, if a patient isn't satisfied with the treatment or does not get better, they don't pay. Even if they offer to pay, I won't accept it if I think they didn't get their money's worth. Again, lots of chiropractors feel this way, not just me.
I also don't agree with MD scammers like the allergy MD mentioned here:(It takes medical boards YEARS and YEARS to finally do something about scammers like this. Why??? I think I know. Shhhh don't tell on them and they won't tell on you.

ha ha And here we are, exposing thousands of chiropractors as members of cult like organizations like "maximized living" and "scientology".

An d then there's aerial, lying about nurses being called quacks.

Yup, they are a scam. High pressure sales with everyone getting the same treatment. They will have you coming in for so many visits, just like everyone else. Need it or not.... They are all about numbers and people in and people out.

The depth of a chiropractor's intellect .... cut and paste.

Remember aerial, its never too late to get out of chiropractic. I know many former chiropractors who have gone on to lead productive and honest lives.

Have any of you read the Maximized Living book? What do you have against grass fed beef, less pesticides in your food, and taking carcinogens out of your diet? Do you like diet soda with aspartame more than being alive and disease free? What is wrong with you? It's no coincidence that American's health has declined as the additives and chemicals in food has risen. We aren't meant to eat food that is produced in laboratories. Try eating a raw organic veggie. It's good for you.

Or eat McDonald's and spend your later years in hospice eating out of tubes. The choice is yours. The FDA isn't going to keep your food safe. You need to be smarter about what the long list of chemicals in your food is and what it will do to your body.

Maximized living tries hard to be politically correct and say the right things about nutrition and other so called 'common sense' ways to live. Isn't that nice. This, in my opinion, is their way of justifying and selling their ridiculously long and expensive treatment plans. As a chiropractor, I detest this type of public deception. Chiropractic is effective by itself when used in moderation and by a competent practitioner.
Whenever I see a Maximized Living clinic hawking their wares at Wal-Mart or a local fair, I want to vomit. I think they are the worst possible poison in our profession. I don't know any of them who aren't crooks.
Most chiropractors are skilled, educated, legitimate and truly care about their patient's well being. If you encounter a Maximized Living chiropractor, run the other way like your house is on fire. And keep your hand on your wallet as you're running.

I am a patient and I have been interested in nutrition and staying healthy for a long time. What is it about the plan that you "detest"? Is it that you don't believe that you need regular adjustments, or that sugar and chemicals are not causing diseases like they say, or that they have merchandise that they are selling (detox pills, protein powders, vitamins)?
I'm curious what about the Maximized Living makes you so against it. Do you think it doesn't make a difference to people's health? I am a huge fan of chiropractic care, and since you said you are a chiropractor yourself, I would like to understand what it is that makes you so against this plan.

They use high pressure sales tactics, cookie cutter treatment plans that fits THEIR money grubbing goals and not their patient's health care needs, cult-like mentality, and berating patients if they don't follow their chants and obey by nodding their heads. They use Mantras. They are a major embarrassment to the chiropractic profession. Their bible banging is so loud you can hear it over most ear-splitting freight train.
I've seen them in action. I'm glad you got better in spite of their tactics.
Yes, I am a chiropractor. My patients get great results with mostly everything I treat, some of which you listed. But I do it in ONE or TWO visits at $20-$40 per visit. My patients do just fine coming in a handful of times per year. A steady patient's yearly bill in my office is rarely over $200 total--for a YEAR.
I detest maximize living chiropractors who scam people into buying more visits than they need. Thousands and thousands of dollars worth each year, whether they need it or not (mostly not). They seem to talk 'job security' with each patient. You can have them. They have their version of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Look up Maximize Living. You'll see who it is.
They are why chiropractic has taken a PR hit. Which is a shame, since chiropractic is the greatest profession ever--that works, in the right hands.

I attend maximized living 3 times weekly and so far have lost 20+lbs, changed my eating habits, gotten off blood pressure meds, let alone feel I have much more energy. Get a grip AMERICA!! Go to Your DR and they just cram pills down your throat....you be the JUDGE!!!! I TOTALLY BELIEVE in this so called "SCAM". GOD BLESS
