Chiropractic has been proven to effectively treat OSA patients. Treating the subluxations in the thoracicand upper cervical spine areas increase oxygen capacity and nerve function. Gentle joint mobilization and adjustments enhance the function of chest muscles and increases blood flow. Stretching and strengthening exercises for the neck also help to improve oxygen flow.

It's also important for the OSA patient to work with a nutritionist while treating the physical challenges of sleep apnea. While resolving the problems that arise from OSA can boost weight loss, the best avenue for getting maximum results comes from a healthier diet and more exercise. As the patient's apnea improves, energy increases and the hormones that trigger appetite become more controlled. By simultaneously managing both sides of the weight, equation,- apnea and diet/exercise - patients will gain vitality and renewed vigor.

Ummm NO it hasn't mr. chiropractor. You chiropractors never hesitate to make unfounded and bizarre claims. Stop the baloney.

Losing weight and exercising helps most.

Why take this douche bag's word for anything? In addition to his jealousy of chiropractors, wisdom also has considerable contempt for nurses and has referred to nurses (yes, nurses) as a 'quacks', noting "they (nurses) too didn't have to take an entrance exam to get into nursing school, so if you ask me, yes, nurses are quacks."
What a dirt bag.

Matthew, what "chiropractic" treatment helped with your asthma?

We can all agree that losing weight and exercising can help with sleep apnea. But that is not a "chiropractic" treatment.

As a former chiropractor, I know that no specific "chiropractic" treatment can help with asthma. And certainly no chiropractor should be making that claim.

Chiropractors make far too many outrageous claims claims which are not supported by legitimate evidence.

@wisdom, a true chiropractor is never a former chiropractor... and I myself was saved from steriods, vents and a whole laundry list of meds to 'cure' my asthma and sleep apnea... and I was a 17 year old all state athlete with no weight or exercise issues when a chiropractor set my T2 in a chiar during an acute attack at a track meet where I did not have my inhaler on the field at the time. You should have been reading your green books and learning how proper spinal function can improve bodily function including asthma and apnea. Is that legitimate enough evidence for you.
It so changed my life so much that I obtained my DC and now help other children with their health issue.
And my wife is a nurse you ignorant ass. She and countless like her are the true caretakers. Med docs only write Rx or cut on them, nurses do the majority of the dirty work and make the impact far greater than any other professionals in hospitals or rehab setting.

"a true chiropractor is never a former chiropractor."

Oh I see. Except for the fact that I am an expert on chiropractic matters. I treated thousands of patients etc etc.

"a chiropractor set my T2"

Beyond stupid. But here's your chance to provide some evidence. And as a chiropractor, you should know that anecdotal claims are not "evidence". Or maybe you don't. Well, I know you don't.

Here's a little fact for you ..... NO chiropractic technique has any legitimate evidence to support its use. NONE.

Activator, used by more than 70% of ALL chiropractors is a bizarre and unfounded chiropractic treatment. And it is NOT supported by any evidence. Just like all the 200+ chiropractic techniques.

" my wife is a nurse you ignorant ass."

You are just another profanity spewing chiropractor. Unable to debate in a thoughtful and critical manner.

By the way, I work in critical care. Nurses are THE backbone to health care. They are the hardest working individuals in health care. However, your wife being a nurse is irrelevant.

Here's my last fact for you mr. chiropractor, nurses practice evidenced based care. Care that is supported by research. Chiropractors do not practice evidenced based care. There are NO "best practices" which chiropractors follow. If you know of any, here's your chance to provide a link.

And then you mention the "green books"? Are you serious? And you call me "ignorant"? The "green books" were written by the "magnetic healer" BJ "the wack job", palmer. Run on sentences and bizarre claims.

I am not surprised that your "chiropractic evidence" is the "green books". So very typical.

OK "darbs" please feel free to intellectually disagree with anything I have said. Is there something I said that is not factually true? Please do tell.

Until then, remember, I was a chiropractor. I am an expert on chiropractic matters. You?

@Wisdom, your spouting does nothing for people like me looking for help where all other avenues have been exhausted. Stay off forms like this. I am only looking for comments from people who have either tried this technique or who attempt to treat it. I don't need your crappy attitude. If you had something constructive to say it would be different. Nothing you say is helpful only inflammatory.

You must not have been very good at Chiropractic. What exactly do you do in "critical care" ? If you are not a licensed DC and call your self an expert on Chiropractic matters then you are making false claims and no one should listen to you. You are now the quack. Furthermore if you accepted money from patients while not believing in what you were doing then you are negligent and you have broken your oath as a caregiver. You should return the money you stole. From which Chiropractic college did you graduate ? The only terminology you have used thus far is "activator". Mere weasel words. Have a great day !

Dr. Doug,

You nailed it. And let's not forget wisdom said (not making this up) that practicing and advertising NOOPE (No Out Of Pocket Expenses) was legal! Can you imagine the dire consequences a chiropractor would face if he actually took this creep's advice? Again, wisdom said NOOPE was perfectly legal in the sense it is legal to not to charge a patient and accept whatever their insurance pays--and advertise you do that. Except, we all know practicing or advertising NOOPE is a felony punishable by jail and license revocation. But wisdom sees nothing wrong with it. He said so himself. There is no difference between practicing NOOPE and hacking into a bank's customer accounts and stealing their money. Both are felonies.
Hey, but the 'expert' should know. If he can tell you with a straight face that NOOPE is legal, what other 'expert' advice does he have? What else does he want you to believe? Get the picture? Wisdom is NO expert. Period. And if he practiced NOOPE, that would explain why he's NOT practicing now.

Wow this is great. I NEVER hear fellow physicians trash each other like this! And I have seen two chiropractors in my life and still have NO IDEA if what they did was useful.
@Wisdom, I don't know if you are right or not, but you are brave to speak your truth.I've been down the wrong road myself a few times!

Debra, I feel obligated to expose the truth about the chiropractic enterprise.

You'll notice that the chiropractors here will resort to name calling and lying. They will never debate on the merits.

The fraud, wisdom, who cites name calling, is a massive hypocrite. Among the names he calls those who don't agree with his lies, propaganda, and rants are moron, dumbass, idiot, and, get this, he has a fascination with diapers! He mentioned diapers thousands of times. Creepy to say the least. You do the math.
Plus, he's a massive liar. He claims (he he) that he is an MD/Phd who works in critical care and his the head of neurosurgery at a famous NY hospital. I don't know about you, but all of the successful surgeons I know have 5 extra hours a day to post crude comments online and call people idiots, morons, and dumbasses.
BINGO! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH H HA AH AH AH HA HA HA
