Hershey heart care coming to Hanover

Hanover Hospital and Penn State Hershey Heart and Vascular Institute are expected to announce today an affiliation that could mean easier access to care for heart patients.

HGH is now entering the real world.
Now, just do away with the interest charges on bills completely.
Since not merging with Wellspan, they have to do something to keep patients local. But. sure Hershey is an out for throwing Wellspan out the door. Linda Duffy, good for the YMCA, Hanover school district, big question, good for HGH, bigger question. HGH NEEDS TO STAY LOCAL WITH LOCAL MANAGEMENT AND EMPLOYEES.

So, do you pay Sears, etc without paying interest? Remember people, it is still a business and more and more people are stiffing the hospital as well as the doctors and other services. You cannot stay in business like that. Get real, I for one prefer to stay here where I can at least understand what they are saying and can say their names. You have no idea how lucky you are to have a staff like we have here. Hanover Hospital is more about this community than this newspaper!

well why are they saying that Hanover Hospital is "non profit" then. They charge the interest to help make a profit!

Please remember when you have a cardiac cath, there is a chance (tho small) of perforating an artery or the walls of the heart. HH is not equipped to do the emerency open heart surgery that would be necessary. We do NOT have an open heart team nor a cardiac surgeon or trained personnel in the OR.
ALthough the chances are slim, i would rather have my cath at a facility where I can recieve immediate care in the event of an mergency, instead of being flown to the nearest facility with an available OR.
At HH, we have known about this for almost a year...I don't know why the news of the joint venture is jsut getting out to the public.
This forum is about the new partership...not medical bills and interest!

HH NURSE is right. How many people remember reading a story about an ambulance from adams county being involve in a terrible accident at Rt 30 and Rt 616, maybe 2 years ago? They were transporting a patient in cardiac arrest from Gettysburg Hospital. This patient was having a cardiac cath done at gettysburg and had a perforated artery.
Head the warning of a nurse; if you need a cardiac cath done, don't let hanover cardiology talk you into having done at hanover hospital by hershey doctors, opt to go to either york or hershey. If something bad happens, you are then in a facility that can treat you. Even if they find a blockage at hanover, they are just gonna transfer you. They will try to get you to go to hershey. My cardiologist bad-mouthed york hospital, the nurses at hanover cath lab also had bad things to say about york hospital. It made no sense to me, after the fact, why I let the doctor talk me into having the cath done at hanover. My advice to readers, if you have a heart attack, dont let them talk you into staying at hanover hospital for a cath, immediately request to go to york or hershey. The cath you get at hanover only makes them money. It is truly sad when our "community hospital" takes advantage of your medicare and other insurance to make themselves money under the guise of providing "you" a service close to home
