Jennifer, are you saying "yes" because you have all the symptoms mentioned above? If so, my son has experienced the worst year ever with allergies this year. His family physician referred him to a an allergist/immunologist to be tested for allergies for which he tested positive to a lot of different things. Although the doctor did not suggest shots right away (we tried nasal sprays, antihistamines first), he is now taking shots twice a week. He is slowly progressing to better health, but what has happened is his immune system has been worn down and he is susceptible to infection. Therefore, when his allergies are triggered, it's not easy for his body to fight off infection. We live in Greenville (I see you're from Spartanburg). I read a post in the doctor's office that Greenville was the capital city in 1996 for the worst place for allergy sufferers. That may also be contributing to your suffering. If you are having lots of ongoing problems, you may consider having your doctor refer you to an allergy specialist. For the time being, you may try an over-the-counter antihistamine like Claritin for a couple of weeks' trial to see if that makes any improvement in your symptoms.

Good luck, let me know how things turn out. Actually, I asked my son's doctor whether he should see allergist or ENT first, but because of his symptoms she suggested allergist. Maybe ENT can help you. It just sounds from your symptoms that you have very bad allergies. If no relief, definitely see an allergist. I used to take allergy shots myself (4 years) and they did wonders. I used to stay sick all the time. We use Allergic Disease and Asthma Center.

Hi Jennifer,

If your allergies wake you up every night, you should definitely invest in allergy relief bedding (dust mite encasings). It's the best line of defense against home allergies.

First I have been taking ant iallergic medication. But that used to make drowzy all the day long. My memory was not good as well.

Now I have change to hyposensitization medication. I have to take this medication for 3 years almost and then It will fine.
Its been 1.5 years now and I am feeling very good and no side effects.

I'M IN HELL, I HAVE BEEN SICK FOR ALMOST TWO YEARS NOW, I HAVE HAD TESTING ON MY BLOOD, MY URINE, CHEST EXRAYS. I HAVE A PAIN IN THE MIDDLE OF MY CHEST THAT IS DULL BUT THERE AND SCARES ME. YES, I DO SMOKE BUT HAVE NOT HAD ALL THESE DAMN ISSUES BEFORE EVER!!!! I CUT DOWN ON SMOKING, I GET SICK EVERY TWO WEEKS AND STAY SICK FOR A MONTH, GET BETTER FOR A WEEK AND AM SICK AGAIN, THINK IT MIGHT BE ALLERGIES, BUT MY GOD. I AM WORN OUT ALL THE TIME, I HAVE A VERY STRESSFUL JOB, BUT THIS IS RIDICULOUS, I HAVE SPENT SO MUCH MONEY ON COUGH MEDICINE ITS UNREAL, I DON'T WANT IT, NOW IT SEEMS TO BE THE ONLY THING THAT GETS ME BY. I EAT OKAY, NOT GREAT,BUT WELL. MY NOSE IS CONSTANTLY DRAINING 24/7 EVEN WITH ALLERGY MED, ANYONE EVER DEALT WITH THIS?

I'm in the same boat. My nose is draining 24/7 as well. I can't take over the counter antihistamines because they make me feel crazy. The only thing that helped for a period of time was when I was taking an antidepressant called Paxil. For whatever reason, once I began taking this medication, my symptoms totally subsided. The only downfall is that the Paxil began giving me seizure's so I had to discontinue. I have had other seizure's in the past before taking this medication. But I miss not having to blow my nose a hundred times a day. Anyone else noticed this correlation between anti-depressants and allergies?

Sound like it may be your Gallbladder or a hiatial Hernia along with seasonal allergies. Many people can have hypersensitivity's to smoke (not true allergies). Some people can get Beurgers Syndrome and loose circulation to their hands and feet. Also if you can think of any environment changes you have had over the last 2 years you may be able to pinpoint what started this.
