I just tried my Ventolin HFA inhaler for the first time this week, a few nights ago. I've been using a regular albuterol inhaler for years and have never had problems.

The first time I used my inhaler (after going through the priming process as directed), I felt like my lungs were on fire. They seized up.

I tried it again today, and again, my lungs are absolutely burning, have been for nearly four hours now, and I have not been able to get a deep breath. I am supposed to make several trips over the next few months, but the idea of being on the road without an inhaler I feel good about terrifies me.

I had been on Proventil for years when I was notified by my pharmacy that it would be replaced with Pro-Air. Have had breathing problems ever since. Went online this morning & find out that a lot of the side effects are the same that I'm having.

Is any progress being made? Is there any indication by anyone in government that lifting the ban is even being considered?

We have allies in the House and Senate- we expect to have much more support after the mid-term elections.

I have COPD and used Armstrong and Warrick for several years. I was switched to Pro Air last year. I have had nothing but trouble with this. It cost 5 times what Armstrong and Warrick costs. It has less metered doses. I makes my mouth and throat sore. It just does not work as well as the old ones did. Who do we contact to complain about this? I am really angry that this has happened!!!

Everyone is right...these are junk...If they (?) are so worried about depleting our air because of the propellant....then why are there other products that use this propellant...i.e hair spray, paint cans etc....who is behind this? I use my nebulizer to survive but it is a bitch trying to use it at work..

I thought this was only me with this problem.. now I see I'm not the only one! I have had asthma for 25 yrs now! They finally got me settle with my asthma about 10yrs ago. I have ALWAYS been on albuterol. They put me on Advair and that is the greatest inhaler out there. I would NEVER need my albuterol... it would actually expire by the time I would need it. TIL NOW.. this PRO AIR SUCKS. I find myself waking up 4-5 times a night needing and inhaler?? I cant seem to get relief at all! Why wait all this time to change something cuz its not safe for the ozone.. well what is safe anymore?? I feel like.. well I know Im taken it way to much but I cant breathe!! FDA Should of just left it alone and concentrated on something more important!
