i am perscribed 200mg pills of provigil. i saw that it is compared to meth..if so can i get high off them and how many will it take for me?..im 140lbs..also what does it feel like if u get high?

why u wanna get high from Provigil? its not a recreational drug at all...if u wanna get high...just use meth instead...much easier and you'll get the result u apperently want...and just as a warning, be careful with Provigil...it WILL fuck up your kidneys if you overdose on a frequent basis..if thats the price you are willing to pay to get high....Id say: GO AHEAD and GOOD LUCK! the result is probably not what u expect...

I agree with Joakim. It's a good way to kill yourself - you'll probably die of a heart attack. Provigil is heavy duty and a serious drug - you do not want to overtake it. I accidently took 100 mg over my correct amount (total of 300mg) and ended up in the emergency room with extremely high blood pressure and heart rate. I had to cut down...

unable to afford Provigil - my insurance co won't cover. Is Modafinil less expensive and will it work just as well as Provigil?

Hi,

I just thought I'd share my experience taking modafinil to try to improve my studies. I bought two boxes of named brands from companies on the internet, and I'm positive they were totally genuine products, as they were both (different brands) sent in correct packaging, had correct tablets (checked with pharamceutical company site description), and both had the same effect on me when I took them. Modafinil didn't improve my ability to study. Initially I had a mild headache for a day or so, but this subsided. The effects were quite pleasant - I was alert, but my attention was closed in like some kind of monotasking zombie. After initially taking them for a week, and trying them at different doses, I had to stop, because they were impeding my ability to perform academically at my usual level. Furthermore, the period for which I was taking them is missing from my long-term memory. I stumbled across a notepad yesterday, and read some notes I had written while taking modafinil - the notes were clear and pertinent, but I simply don't remember writing them (this can't be good!). Also, I felt a bit hungover for a day after stop taking them (there's a day lost, not gained!), with a heavy chest and awareness of my heartbeat. I took modafinil again a while later aftre a bad night's sleep, and the stuff gave me a productive day which would have otherwise been lost. However, I tried to take it two days in a row a while later to finish a piece of academic work, and nearly blew the piece of work - modafinil just prevents me from thinking creatively. In my experience, if you had a whole host of simple task to do, modafinil might be the answer for a day once in a while; but if you think you're going to ace an academic course because you're taking modafinil - think again!

What is with this thread? "is modifinal as good as provigil..." etc duuhhhh HELLO Provigil IS modifinal! I have had both the name brand and generic and found absolutely no difference unless one is going to hang on every difference from one day to the next...in that case people could get some really significant SOUNDING rhetoric going about one "batch" of provigil compared to the next one! They both feel the same with regard to effects and in fact they physically taste identical too! No one could give me a tablet of placebo and convince me it's modifinal (either generic or brand name aka provigil) because the stuff is not bitter so it can actually be savored for texture and taste ..heck you could chew the stuff if have a hard time swallowing ...it has a taste/texture unique to just it! An impossible describe unique sweetish taste I'd say offhand although it has been quite some time since I actually tasted it thoroughly, at any rate please stop speaking about modifinal as one drug and provigil as another! That confuses the ignorant! If you insist there is a difference say "generic version of modifinal verses provigil branded version of modifinal. But I'd bet money if I could administer these in a truly blind way in however many length of day increments or whatever that you would get fooled at least 50% of the time on average and the times you were right? just the same luck as a coin toss nothing to take any credit for.

just wanna know if any one else had similar experience ?
was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis (similar to arthritis) and suffered extreme fatigue , used methamphetamine to get over the fatigue and ended up needing some rehab help. Rehab doctor gives me modafinil.Seemed to work well except for one down side - made me gamble extremely impulsively. Third day on the dafodils (modafinil) went to the pub , usually put 20 to 50 buks through the machines and walk away but on the dafodils i managed to lose myself 5 grand - end result .....stopped taking them god dammed daffodils went back to dosing myself (very carefully and with extreme discipline ) with the good old methamphetamine and am still plodding along with ankylosing spondylitis , extreme fatigue and a carefully controled methamphetamine habit. Thanks modafinil and thanks to the rehab doctors for giving me no warning whatsoever that modafinil may cause extreme impulsiveness.

I'm 32 and diagnosed with mild narcolepsy.
Prescribed 200mg of provigal in the morning, and another 200mg at lunch (if needed).

2. extra energy all day long
3. feeling of mild euphoria
4. reduces stress/ anxiety
5. you feel driven
edge 2
1. take too much you get hyper
2. dont sleep enough feel like a zombie on it
3. hyper focus
4. headaches
5. nausea
6. loss of apetite
7. if you smoke, you'll feel like smoking alot more
8. no alcohol - you feel dizzy, not good feeling
9. you get angry, your driving at 100 in a 60 zone all day long...a new feeling
10. your personality will change not by choice
11. you get depressed about the past mainly missed opportunities because you wern't on Provigal.
11. it's not addictive, so choose...walk around like a slow dim witted moron always sleepy or focused, energised and happy ready to take on the world.
ohh i should also mention i'm still on cpap every night - lot's of fun especially when meeting new partners....out comes darth vardar mask.

A brilliant review of this drug. I've been studying Provigil while taking it for quite some time. This raw description is not only spot on, but beats any effects information you will read on the net. I never write on these boards but this guy deserves a thumbs up.

I think modalert is overrated. Maybe it works for people who are chronically ill. I've taken it several times to improve my wandering concentration and the efffects were minimal. What is more annoying, however, is that the next day I felt like I had some sort of hungover and my brain was quite rigid. I am sure that this medicine slaughters one's neurons big time. I'll stick to coffee and other safer stimulants. This one is not for me.

You need to increase your Choline levels if you are taking Modafinil.

Modafinil/Modalert certainly makes you stay awake when you need to be awake. There's no more drowsiness or daydreaming, it's all focus, focus and you get a LOT of work done. There's no comedown either. I suspect a lot of any dose is excreted in the urine because I have noticed a strong smell when I urinate the following day, not dissimilar to the smell after taking MDMA. I wouldn't take any more than 100mg (half a tablet) per day as that concentration seems to last the entire day and evening for me and I wouldn't want to acclimatatise to it. And two days in seven is more than enough for me, any more and I'd feel as if I was burning the candle at both ends.

What does it feel like? Well, There are times when I feel the same anyway, times when I'm really enthusiastic about something and I want to see a project through to conclusion. When I'm like this naturally, I love myself for having such drive and determination and I'm comparable to all the other high-powered people around me. But ehre are also times that I flag and I hate myself for being second rate. Moafinil can take you through these times, making you feel pretty much the same as the natural state BUT it always has the after taste of borrowed time. You can't take these pills forever. Use them occasionally and all will be fine. Too much and you'll probabaly have a heart attack beacuse they are amphetamines, after all.

Modafinil is NOT an amphetamine, dummy!

I agree, it's not directly an amphetamine. However, it is an amine with a secondary benzyl group, albeit with a sulphhdryl (thio) group crammed in between. Structurally, therefore, they are not a million miles apart. So, please don't call me 'dummy' because, since I have a degree in biochemistry, I am probably more familiar with structural groups and their effects than you are. If you are more qualified than me, I'll gladly accept your comments, provided they are backed up with evidence. But, please, crass quips like this, leave it out. Thanks you.
