How Much Does Health Insurance Affect Health?
There have been a number of claims that lack of insurance is life threatening. The most recent and well known is an Institute of Medicine study claiming that 18,000 people die every year because they do not have health insurance.

18,000 a year might die from no health insurance.
But how many will die from the financial stress of being forced to pay for something where the same money could be used for daily necessities they know they will need compared to the chance they might have a medical event.
Or how many die with insurance participating in a system that encourages finding & treating the littlest thing wrong with numerically imprecise & imperfect out of context testing. Once your in the system of US health care you many never get out. It's a medical sandtrap and financial vortex.
