I'm the same way, Cory. Since third grade career day, I've wanted to be a dentist. I think it would be such a rewarding career, and something that I would be able to do for at least the next forty years. Even though school will take several years, I still want to be a dentist. I am actually applying to a few different dental schools this fall! http://www.prairiemalldental.ca/

Becoming a dentist does take a lot of time, money and effort. You need to know that being a dentist is what you want. I recommend researching more about the career and shadowing a dentist. There is a lot more to the everyday life of a dentist than what you see when you visit yours for a cleaning.

What do you need to study specifically in order to become a sedation dentist? I feel like they would get paid more for being able to do sedation. They must also be the type of dentist that comes to help before a surgery. http://advanceddentistrybutler.com/treatments...

I have two friends in dental school right now and they love it! I just know that they will both be amazing dentists. They are both working very hard to become a dentist. I find it very interesting when they tell me things they learn at school.

I think it would be really fun to go to dental school, but I feel like you would be in there for a long time. I guess it pays itself off once you start your practice because so many people end up being dentists. I think it would be fun to learn more about the different procedures and stuff, but I think I will leave the rest to the professionals.

I have so many friends that are working to be family dentists. Right now they are just getting started in medical school and they just love it. I think it is important to follow your dreams and do something that you love doing.

Thanks for all the great advice. My son is thinking about becoming a dentist in Calgary, and I think it's a great idea. I should have him read the article you shared. http://www.advantagedentalcentrecalgary.com/
A dentist in the family is always a positive thing because then if you have any questions you can talk to them. That is what I usually do because my aunt is a dentist. I have learned so much from her about how to take really good care of your teeth. My actual dentist is surprised at how clean my teeth are.

Sedation dentist sometimes referred to as "sleep dentistry," although that's not entirely accurate. Their are levels to to becoming a sedation dentist. It will level up with the once experience. Becoming a family dentist is always good. Where one should with its appropriate knowledge and outsourcing services for the better support and becoming a dental expert.

I have a few friends that want to go into dentistry. I think it would be fun to work in the medical field and help people try to live healthier lives. I think sometimes we forget how important those types of jobs are. I hope my friends do well with their studies because they would be really good family dentists.

Hi, there are lots of fields you can choose, for example, one that I like is Orthodontics.

It was the first specialty created in the field of dentistry. An orthodontist, specialist in orthodontia, is limited to practice orthodontia only. Whereas general dentists can provide orthodontic treatment along with other treatments for teeth like fillings, cleanings, crowns, etc. Orthodontists are concerned with the study and treatment of malocclusions (improper bites), which may be a result of tooth irregularity and/or disproportionate jaw relationships. So it is only your choise!! If you want mor einformation about Orthodontics, search online for specialised websites like Zerodonto, and search for the following names: Renato Cocconi, Takemoto Kyoto, Fillion Didier, David Hatcher, David Turpin, Giorgio Fiorelli, Vittorio Cacciafesta and Giulio Maino.

I think it would be a long journey to become a dentist. You have so much to learn and remember. What I like is that you really put into practice what you learn. Sometimes I don't understand why we don't just learn what our professions are doing instead of a general education of everything.

What things do you need to do in order to better propel yourself in that direction of becoming a dentist? I've been looking for some ideas for my sister. She is going into dental school, but I want to make sure she has all the tips she needs! I'm excited to see her pursue her dreams.

I'm going to get the family to the dentist. I figure getting everyone done first would really be valuable. Hopefully we can get this done before Christmas!

Wow, I had no idea what it took to be a dentist. It seems like you can study almost anything for your undergraduate work, which is really cool. Grad school can be really expensive, so I think it is important to only borrow what you need for school, and try and save as much as possible.

I wonder how difficult it is to become a dentist. I know there is a lot of schooling you need to go through. I couldn't imagine having to go through the process.
