beware: do NOT sign a membership agreement with Atomic Kickboxing!
when creating a membership you are required to give authorization for ASF International to electronically transfer the gym dues from you checking/credit card. the problem is, ASF will not allow you to cancel your agreement and refers to it as a "retail sales contract". even after you fulfill your membership term, ASF will continue to deduct funds from your account. the better business bureau gave ASF International a "F" grade due to the amount of complaints received about the company. i wish i never signed my son up with this gym.

This is a response to Christine about her experience at Atomic Boxing. We try hard to operate an honest business ran with integrity. We try to handle customer problems when they arise, to the best of our ability. Christine is a good example of someone signing a membership agrrement and not understanding how contracts work, we explain in detail how our memberships work when someone enrolls-sad.
We hope her child got the benifts most kids get from our Kids Power Hour class which is self-confidence, self-esteem, self-defense and in better shape then when they come to us. We're sorry Christine was unhappy, its hard to please all of the people all of the time.

The thing that is reall sad is that Atomic Boxing is using the same tactics other gyms use when it comes to memberships and cancellations. A major gym (they advertise they are open all the time, and will get you in shape - hence their name) got sued and lost a class action lawsuit because they were tacking on an extra month of dues after you cancelled your membership.

Instead of criticizing Christine for not understanding contracts I would have preferred to hear you try and explain why she was charged by the collection comapany you use when she tried to cancel her membership after she fulfilled her obligated time of membership.

You say you can't please all the people all the time - I don't think ANYBODY would be pleased with having that happen to them ANYTIME.

You explain in detail how your memberships work. Did you explain to Christine that even after her contract obligation time period was over, it would be very difficult or next to impossible for her to cancel? Like you said - sad...

As an Atomic Boxing member I was clearly told that at the end of my contract it would automatically roll over. I was told the contract is there just as a time committment to start and then once my time is up it rolls over to a open ended month to month...that way I wouldn't have to sign another contract again...no offense but I found this beneficial to me so I wouldn't have another enrollment fee..The contract was completely well explained when I joined and I still am enjoying the benefits of Atomic Boxing..After reading these comments I totally understand both sides but that is why Anyone that signs a contract should read the contract through before they continue on signing it. Its in the paperwork people....What is sad is that Im sure as nice as the owners of Atomic Boxing are they would have probably easily worked with this woman...sad

Instead of attacking the club, familiarize yourself with ASF International. Clubs use ASF for their billing. I have a policy; I never do business with anyone who uses ASF International.
If enough people would communicate to the clubs (not by attacking them) but simply state the case that they are losing your business because they use ASF International, businesses would stop using ASF... or lose their customers. Simple and effective. The bottom line is, this kickboxing club probably couldn't care less if one person is miffed. But if 50% of their clientelle said, "I'm quitting the gym because I don't want to do business thru ASF International", I GUARANTEE YOU that the MONEY they are losing would get the message thru their jock-bone heads.

This place sucks and it stinks! The guy in the counter is creepy and I hope the better business shuts them down for their ridiculously overpriced under qualified staff and less then decent facility.. My living room is bigger than this place!!

Wow.... I find it incredible that people want to put the blame in several places. As a client of Atomic Boxing and an intelligent human being I know when I have a contract sitting in front of me I should read it. ASF yes has ways of their own, but it clearly states as I have read in my contract, after fullfilling your contract you have thirty days to cancel it otherwise there will be another month due. This means cancel it before your last month comes. This is not rocket science. As for the gym itself It is WAYYYYY cleaner then any boxing gym that I have been to and the staff actually introduce you to the instructors and always answer my questions accordingly. I have even asked some about strength training and other forms of training and as most the staff there are certified trainers as well they were even helpful on this matter. Bottom line is don't knock it till you try it. People will have their opinions make one for yourself. Most people that have to knock something down only do so because they have nothing better to do. Thank you Atomic Boxing you have done your job, and that is get me in shape that was all that was required of you, Im not in a spa im in a gym!!

I really enjoy Atomic Kickboxing! The instructors and owners are very talented and professional. the contracts are fair. You always need to read the rules.
They are the most pleasant people to work with, so leave all the complaining to the sheep. Go and baa somewhere else.
This is great club and I feel privileged to be apart of it.

Wow, I guess even in 2009 people cant wrap their heads around Electronic funds transfer. For the guy/girl attacking Tom Ryan for his response to Christine. First off, spell check is a great program, second what are you even talking about with "Tactics all gyms use", exactly they all use the same tactics so you should be aware of it and know how they work. You also have a contract with the policies written on it and I know it was explained clearly because I was sold a membership from Tom and he made the terms very clear.
