I know some of the kenpo folks here in Hawaii. If this art has Kenpo it's probably a serious combative art

I went to Elementary school with Woody. He was one of the most genuine guys , even at a young age. It doesnt suprise me he is making a positive impact on Vallejo youth. I still im proud to consider him a friend 35yrs later.
Thanks for a great story about someone who is doing GOOD THINGS in V-Town.

If more kids got involved in activities like this there would more positive young adults and more role models for those coming up after them. so nice to see a positive story about vallejo. May God bless you Rome
with enough caring adults even vallejo can be turned around

Thank You Woody for all the years of bumps and bruises. Most of my younger memories come from getting popped by you...tall, long reach MF, hard as hell to spar.
Training with you gave me the mental and physical ability to do what I do now.
Your oldest is 30?! Holy #@*^ your gettin old!

Finally! It is awesome to see guys like Woody Sims featured in posts such as this. Woody has been an asset to the Vallejo community for so long, a contributor to the Arts and a father figure for so many kids that have walked through those doors. Woody's school has been an institution in this area and he has been a positive influence and mentor to tons of kids over time.
And yes, there are not many schools left that make you earn your belt, respect and confidence through the arts. But don't get it twisted, I've seen Woody's "kids" take care of their own in competitions as well as walk away from confrontations. After all this is a figthing school first and foremost and one of the last academies that promote "higher consciousness through Harder Contact".
