"MEKNES IS THE RIVER WHERE YOU CAN FIND WHAT YOU COULDN'T FIND IN AN OCEAN"
-MEKNES-TAFILALET = by it's size is 3 times larger than the Belgium Territory & half the Tunisian one.
-Named and elected in1995 by International Council for the historical monuments as a Spiritual Priority site.
-And in 1996 By the UNESCO as a "WORLD HERITAGE SITE".

(Ask any travel agent Why they don't show Meknes, all Meknčs ! The Imperial city&The Medina .? You will find the answer in the other cities; When you will spend Hours in stores & not in museums)
-"Also we say :Meknčs is a Princess created by the must powerful Emperor we ever had in Morocco,He was the one who could stop the Ottomans away from Morocco, who liberated Tangier from the British, and several cities on the Ocean's littoral from the Portuguese
-MEKNES and THE UNITED STATES:It's in Meknes where was signed the first treaty recognizing the U.S. independence Between n Sidi Md B. Abdallah & Georges Washington in 1777.
-And also in 1787 one of the first American trading Treaty (MOROCCO-AMERICAN.).At the same date Morocco gave the U.S the first freehold owned by America abroad(American Legacy:Tangier).
The both treaties are still respected.
-Most of the American MOORISH COMMUNITY ancestors came from Meknes-Tailalet
-MEKNES and FRANCE:
-Historically Meknes is called LES VERSAILLES du Maroc, when My Ismael wanted to marry the LOUIS XIV daughter la Princess DE CONTI , and built a palace large as Versailles(Where is the present GOLF course)
- The French did of Meknes the second French Military town after METZ.& where more than 40 000berber solders joined the French Army during the 2nd W. W.(won the Monte Cassino battle, &liberated cities in IT. BEL. GER. AUST.& FR.)
-MEKNES and ITALY
- Next to Meknes 30 min .VOLUBILIS is the Largest Roman site in Morocco.
- Meknes was to GIUSEPPE GARIBALDI'S one of his favorite cities(when he came in 1852)
- IN 1874 the Italian Ambassador Vittorio Emmanuel II was received by the king .
MEKNES-TAFILALET-
-VINEYARDS: 80 percent of the Moroccan wines production come from MEKNES. 40 /100 exported to Europe.......
-The HORSE'S CAPITAL.The largest public stud farm in Africa is in MEKNES .
-The largest CEDAR wood in the world(Cedrus Atlantica ) Mid ATLAS (1 hour away)
-The Highest Sahara dune The Chebbi dune ( 5 hours .)
- SKI RESORT : Ifrane (45min)
- 22 Natural Lakes
-GOLF: RABAT :(1h30min). FEZ :(45 min).Sahara Golf -play on the sand ( 5hours)
-THE MEKNES ROYAL GOLF (THE UNIQUE IN THE WORLD WHERE YOU CAN PLAY TILL MIDNIGHT) "Lighted"
- THE ONLY IMPERIAL-CITY SET INSIDE 25 miles wall, 44 feet high all 'lighted at night :
-Meknes is also the Imperial city where you visit the ImprialTown by car or bus, and walk hours in the old medina .
(.MEKNES IS FOR VISITORS SOME WHERE ELS IS FOR TOURISTS)
between 750 000 people just 2000 make living from the tourism.industry.

Thrue as a Good visitor you can spend 7 or more hours in Meknes visiting :monuments, museums ...and not like other famous touristic towns where more than 3 hours are spent in stores .
