Libya's former rebels demand 40 percent of seats on transitional council

TRIPOLI: Libya's former rebels, who battled the forces of dead dictator Moammar Gadhafi, are demanding greater representation in the National Transitional Council, a commander from Misrata said Monday.

Just "who" these rebels are, and what their agendas are, must be made clear FIRST!! Many extremists were mixed in with the rebel forces.

Veterans of the Revolution may have representatives in one advisory organ together with clerics and tribal elders.Executive organs and ministry should be formed from experts .

Some of the statements to start threads of the forum are just someones opinion and are not fact. There is nothing showing that former rebels are demanding 40%, in fact even radical factions are working with the government for a fresh start. The laying down of weapons will never be100% as these people grew up with weapons. Look at the US, some feel it is their god given right to bear arms and this is from a civilized industrilized country.

Mahmoud you like stirring up gossip and should back away, you do not live in Libya therefore the "we" comments are not true

MOST OF THE "REBELS" AREN'T EVEN LIBYANS, BUT LUMPENS FROM THE MIDEAST WHO ARE BASICALLY THE BOTTOM OF THE SOCIAL LADDER, THE TYPES THE UNITED STATES REGIME IN WASHINGTON DC LIKES THE BEST AS THEIR HIRED TERRORISTS.
