Heartless: Craig Lewis, 55, was the first man to have a 'continuous flow' pump to replace his entire heart - and now has no pulse

No heart: The device uses blades to circulate blood through the body, replacing the heart

On March of last year, Craig Lewis, 55, was dying from a heart condition that caused build-ups of abnormal proteins, and not even a pacemaker could help save his life.
But two doctors from the Texas Heart Institute proposed a revolutionary new solution – install a ‘continuous flow’ device that would allow blood to circulate his body without a pulse.
Dr Billy Cohn and Dr Bud Frazier installed the device after removing Mr Lewis’ heart. Within a day, the patient was up and speaking with physicians.

Because now people that have Heart Disease, and could possibly die, can now have a better chance to live. Imagine if science can replace internal organs when they fail, without having to wait on donor lists.

I don't think surviving with a mechanical heart is living, existing maybe ???? If they really wanted you to live they would grow a new heart from stem cells.

They have the technology but you will never see it. It is only for the elites. They could cure all diseases and prolong life it they would only release the technology.

The last major disease they cured was polio, back in the 1950s........ After all these years and billions of dollars in research, do you really think they don't know how to cure cancer ?????

I agree with you about the Stem cell research. I believe that the possibilities coming from stem cell research could be infinite. Stem Cells have the ability to cure diseases and possibly even grow new organs. And yes the elites will probably keep that for themselves. Maybe one day, it will possible to live without fear of disease or maybe even death. I'm not sure how well that guy is living with the heart pump, but if he is talking, moving, eating, and being able to be with family, that has to be better than death.

Maybe I have seen to much suffering and death. I would rather die a natural death than be hooked up to a machine like that. I have told my family the same thing. I would rather they let me go than live on machines. Sometimes dead is better ......
