You should STFU the more you talk the stupider you sound. Only an idiot would not realize it is wrong and illegal to shoot children. As for me being a wimp, I served two tours in Afghanistan and two in Iraq, the last one in Fallujah in 2003 and 2004. I have seen more people shot and blown up than I care to remember.

We don't know the full story here. Therefore, I have mixed emotions. Maybe Mr. Bishop had already approached the kid's parents, didn't get results and felt he needed to take care of it himself. That was the stupidest thing he could have done was shooting a shotgun in a subdivision.
I think kids are so disrespectful these days because they don't get the discipline we did growing up. Everyone within 20 miles knew us and would have marched us home to face the firing squad, aka Daddy, if we were caught harassing. He kept our fruit trees pruned by cutting switches from them when we got in trouble. Sure raised a fine bunch of youngins. Some of the brats out there just need an old fashion butt busting. They know they can get away with almost anything and the parents and law will not/can not do a thing to stop them.

I agree kids are more of a handful these days. But mr bishop went too far in shooting this kid,i will agree on that.Like i said somewhere else, these days its not safe for kids to go knocking/ringing strangers doorbells. This is how some criminals figure out if someone is at home.My brother's house got burglarized a few days ago,and it did happen after school was out.It can also be unnerving if your home alone and your bell is rung and nobody is there, but all these people up in arms arent thinking about that.I guess from where i've read,he had been pranked the night before, and the night it happened, there were like 6 figures on his lawn, and he overreacted and shot. Also,a resident of Glenmary posted online, they've been having problems with egging, theft, and vandalism since school has been let out.Like the police chief said,be more aware of your neighbors.Ive had a car egged, and been pranked twice in one day while sleeping, and it is VERY irritating in the least.Wishing a speedy recovery for Jacob.Kids need to find more positive outlets when they're bored.

The children were wrong. The shooter was very wrong and will pay a dear price for being a hot headed fool. All the children needed was a good spanking----oh,I forgot--we can`t do that anymore--its abuse.

Right on my brother! Speakin of medieval time, we oughts to bring back that machine where they chain up each arm and leg and crank up on the wheel until these kids limbs are pulled outta there sockets.

They wouldn't be ringin no door bells after that thats fo sure. Word.

No need to be so hostile there comrade.

If that child had a bomb strapped to his chest or was aiming a barrel atchur azz you tellin me you wouldnt take him out? Yeah right. Under the right conditions it could be done and should be done so you better recognize.

These days ain't like it was 20 or 30 years ago. Evil wears many faces.

Wow! We're talking about children here. How in the hell do you make a comparison with terrorism and children ringing doorbells?
How are you so sure the residents weren't terrified? He pulled a gun out didn't he? And why would someone do that? If they felt threatened they sure as he'll would.

So are you jus playin wit semantics or you jus don't understand the definition of terror?

Look the kid was in the wrong. Harrassement is an issue. But shooting someone in the back for ringing a doorbell is WAY the hell over the line. I gurantee if he had just run out that door with that shotgun those kids would have sh*t themselves and never come back. He took the most extreme route in this situation that u can imagine and a kid is hurt badly and he is going to jail for a long time. There is no winner in this

According to his lawyer who spoke on the news yesterday,it was an accident and he didnt want to shoot them.He had been sleeping and didnt know who was on his property.I agree,he could've just came out with an empty gun and nobody would've been hurt, and Jacob wouldnt be in the hospital. They didnt actually ring the bell that night, but he was pranked the night before. When you live alone, people are more jumpy about whats going on outside at night.I dont believe he intentionally wanted to kill a young boy,i really dont.Im pretty sure if he could turn the clock back and do things differently,he would.I dont think hes a monster, nut,or a lunatic. With home invasions and robberies happening, kids need to practice more common sense these days. And parents need to discourage their kids from doing this 'prank'.Sad,and that poor boy...

Its sad brother man, kids ain't like they was when we were young. Now they get away wit just about everythin...you can't even take a switch to a kid now or paddle that azz without them lockin you up for child abuse.

And jus to be clear I wouldn't shoot all 12 year olds...just them little bastuds that ring my doorbell and leave. I hates to get outta my recliner when sanford and son is on. You feel me. Word

Oh believe me I would take extreme action.

Kids used to be taught to be respectful, courteous, and polite but not anymore...parents jus don't give a dam. That's ok because justice come in many forms. I dont think this homeowner went far enough. Word
