Since technically it hasn't been banned, why not simply declare them legal and fight it out in the Courts, hmmm?

You don't need a Law to permit something, only to prohibit something.

These marriages should have been done as legal.

For fun, because the U.S. Constitution prohibits Government interference in private contracts, they should have written the Marriages up as private Marriage Contracts, and witnessed by all present, including the Mayor.

Anyone who really understands what marriage is would never participate in a group "wedding" like this.

Group weddings happen all the time, though the promises are witnessed one couple at a time.

Good point. I believe that the poster ment that marriage is between a man and a woman. Not Adam and Steve. This is getting out of hand. The children growning up will never know the real normal, of course these days people want to say this is normal. How does one expain the birds and the bees with this going on? Two moms or two dads. This was not Gods vision when he created Eve for Adam. Lets hope that we do not get another liberal in the White House.

Same-sex marriage has been legal in some places for quite a while now and society still does just fine. People are still having kids, and those kids are growing up just fine regardless if they are being raised by mom and dad, or just mom, or just dad, or by a same-sex couple.

And here's a news flash for you: there have been LGBT parents raising kids since the dawn of time. Just because you've heard about it lately doesn't mean it's a new thing.

I have a question for you: how dare you presume to speak for God? Surely the Divine can speak on its on behalf.

Here's something else to think about:

"The Bible contains six admonishments to homosexuals and 362 admonishments to heterosexuals.
That doesn't mean that God doesn't love heterosexuals. It's just that they need more supervision."

I agree with the poster. Give that person a break! We know God loves everyone, but just like the poster stated this is not God's vision of marriage! If it was, then it would be all over the Bible. Everyone can live their lives, but please do not put the "gay thing" in other people's faces all of the time. Everyone gets the point. There is no need to know about the gays marrying their partner. Besides, marriage is between a man and a woman! Children will never know what God's vision was. Think about it! Food for thought; this could be a way that the Devil is taking control. Also, note I like everyone and I know gay people and respect them, but I have my own views that I am intitled to! I stay straight and you go your way.

You do realize that your choice of God's vision isn't shared by all those who believe in Him, don't you? Many Bible-believing Christians choose to believe that God's vision on this subject is far different than the one you chose. They choose to believe that God loves His lesbian and Gay children just as He chose to create them to be and that He even blesses their marriages. They might not be your kind of Christian, but God decides who gets His Christianity right, not His Christians.

You have every right to your choice of beliefs, no matter how morally offensive they are to anyone else. If your Church doesn't want to extend God's blessings to same sex couples in marriage, their problems would only be with God, not the law. Your choice of beliefs should not be our legal burden. Sorry.

Those who call themselves Christians and insist that God only approves of marriage between one man and one woman are clearly ignorant of the Bible.

The Bible includes examples of all sorts of marriages -- including same-sex marriages. The story of David and Jonathan includes a description of what could only be a marriage ceremony: they pledge themselves to each other, strip naked, and lie together. When Jonathan dies David laments the loss as a spouse would. David even says that his love for Jonathan "surpassed the love of women." Then there is the story of Ruth and Naomi. It's such a clear example of a loyal romantic union that it is regularly quoted in mainstream wedding ceremonies.

Anti-gay Christians claim that God supports their stance but the Bible doesn't back them up.
