Larry Mahoney has had so much grief over what he did years ago. I don't know Larry, but I've heard from so many people that he's a really good guy who made a really bad choice one night. This guy is no different. I don't know him, but I know his parents and they are good people, but if he did the crime, just like Larry, he should do the time. Larry didn't even want to get out when he was able to. There is no difference between these two people. Neither could handle their booze and someone else paid the price! If you can't handle alcohol, don't drink!!!! It's that simple. This James, Nathan, whatever you want to call him, should not be given mercy either. He even (as a grown man, mind you), left a person who he hit with his vehicle lying in a ditch like an animal and left the scene. Drunk or not drunk, that is sick! He knew better. There comes a time when you should grow up and leave the partying behind or at least be responsible when you do it. If you don't care about your own life, at least give a damn about other people's lives. He should have to serve a full sentence!

Texas has the death penilty maybe Kentucky should think about having it to....if u take another persons life and leave them like a racoon on the side of the road u deserve the death penilty .... bless Michael's family he was a very sweet person.
How on earth do you know this man has no remorse? Mike's loss was very tragic. That is no secret. Everyone feels this pain.

How in the Hell does he have remorse when he could have maybe saved that young man from dieing..........He could have called 911, Did u not see the post that said he got out, then left ,got a friend ,So why did not the friend call 911? We as a whole need to rem who did what when we vote these people in. He should have not been aloud out of jail. Judge Lester ( What if that had been your son?) Would you had been so quick to let him out? The people that that are in our so called courts should be held accountable for there actions as well! We need to get ALL of the GOB out of our system....Put ones who know the law and goes by it all the time! Does it not amaze you how many wave at you ,talk to You at election time and swear they are going to make a difference, But as soon as there are in they forget what they said. He'll most of them will not answer there phone. How much more of this are we going to take? And before someone says if you don't like it move,I should not have to move.I should be able to know the law is on my side. But clearly it is not..........It is for who has the most money ,or who is who! Sad but true. This young man deserves justice!!!! Just Saying

This isn't as much about knowing the law as it is about doing what's right and just. Judge Chandler should be removed from the bench for making this decision. She ought to be ashamed of herself for letting that boy out on such a low bond. Yes it is sad that this young man has to live with this decision the rest off his life. But at least he has his life. There needs to be consequences for his actions. He took someone's life for goodness sake, and for this Judge to act like this is just a theft or drug possession, she ought to lay awake at night knowing she just kicked the Beach family while they were down.

Innocent till proven guilty. I like it how everyone screams foul before we even see what is going to happen. I want to see what he gets out of it and whether he was drunk. I mean, won't there be a trial? And that boy who got ran over had a lot of kin, I don't think things would sit well if justice is not done.
innocent until proven guilty, if you turn yourself in for hitting someone and killing them, there shouldn't even be a trial, lock his dumb ass up. you admitted it when you turned yourself in... ijs, however, apparently this family has money and money talks bs walks... not fair...

We have a case pending now where i'm from where a drunk driver killed another individual. In this case the 2nd degree manslaughter charge wasn't until the blood test results at the hospital were received.I know that a roadside breathalyzer can be challenged in court successfully. The charges i'm sure can change either way when that's received.I'm assuming the blood test will show any and all intoxicants that were in his system. The family of the individual here also has a well connected family, and has money. This person was released after 2-3days on a 100,000 property bond and is on home incarceration until her trial date;only with thee dui charge at time. The charges were then amended with the 2nd degree manslaughter charge when the blood test came in.The 5000 bond sounds fitting for a dui charge. These days and times you don't come out scott free with charges like these,no matter who you are;as it should be!!.May God bless the victim's family.and also the family of the accused!

When a drunk man killed my sister
he didn't get a bond set he had to face justice although my family didn't fight for him to be sent away for along time B/c we knew he didn't intend to kill her. I liked that we had a choice . Now I believe micheals family should have a say in how long he gets or a bond so he can walk. It was their loss of someone special they are the only ones that can feel justice was served for this horrible act against their loved one. But our county is messed up and don't care about what's right
The family i'm sure will have a say in this at some point.Sadly what they won't have a say in is his bond, because in the law's eyes he's innocent until proven guilty.I just hope that if this boy is guilty,he will man up and take responsibility.I'm sure the prosecutors will get the family's input. The may want him to be offered a deal to keep them from having to go through a trial. It should be all about what the victim's family wants!

Remember you are all being watched. So be careful casting stones and keep your closests closed before your Skeltons fall out, I'll be praying for both families, Michael and Nathan.... as well as everyone commenting on this post. God bless your souls, bless your loud mouths,I hope your rumors don't make it past this stupid website and I hope your families are healthy.... because some of you, some of you are just being awful. Some of you probably have no connection to either party in this accident and are putting your opinions in where it's not needed anyways.... have a nice day and when you get to the golden gates, may god forgive you for being so hateful.

This is not about being Hateful,As for me I know both family's .It is about a young man who lost his life...To someone that cannot stop drinking and driving. But put aside that even if he was not drunk ,He still left the scene. And the charges was DUI, and manslaughter in the 2 nd decree .So that been said ,were are the charges for leavening ? Because he has bad a choice to drive sober or not, he still left this young man alone to die. I don't care what anybody says you bury you child to neglect ,and then let's see how you feel . He should have stayed in jail !,,, bottom line by not getting him help ( He Killed Him ) plain and simple. And by the way am fine with the golden gates. But the fact is our system is Broke !!!!!!

Maybe he wasn't charged with leaving the scene because you don't know all the facts. And maybe the system isn't perfect, but the community is more broken and this thread is nothing but hatred and judgments on something you have no idea about. Just rumors and lies and people inventing their own version of what happened. Get a life.

Regardless of how you feel about the accused family maybe we should try to convince this county to limit the amount of alcohol sold here .every store on just about every corner sells alcohol and then we have like 5 bars here . Anything could happen even sober but being able to stop and grab alcohol every 50 ft don't help innocent victims that could be hurt.

None of that changes the fact we have a broken system, bottom line Can not get no simpler than that. We do have a good oh boy system in play,And yes it is about who you are in this town.By your remarks you must be in that group. Nobody is trying to be hateful.....Just would like to see this young man who lost his life get Justice. But clearly you think it's ok to leave and then not get help!( Fact that is what happen) You must be one of those people who can not take off there apron strings! Like I said bury a child due to human error, then get on here a preach! I promise it won't be that easy . See how you feel when your child gets no respect!!! I agree it should be out of this town. To close for comfort. What are people scared of ,they will find out who you are and make you pay for telling the truth....... Am sick of all of all this scratch my back bull crap. So say what you want,Like I said he needs to put his big boy pants on and do the right thing.

I hope u aren't addressing me. I hate this town only here because of how my life played out . I agree we have a broken system and the cops are all joke. My family has no money living off of weekly paychecks that ain't much. I have never been in trouble with the law but have needed them on occasion and they let me down they only protect the ones with money or who they know but the amount of alcohol is also ab issue .
on this topic they accuse a couple bars of serving him but it don't matter he could have got the last drink 5 ft from where the accident occurred bc it is in every store here.
