How can someone that has been charged with DUI and second degree manslaughter be released on a 5,000 dollar bond?!?? That is just crazy! If it was someone in this town without the right family in this crooked town they wouldn't have got a bond!

They say that this Nathan boy will have to live with what he's done... well I'll tell y'all rite now my mother was killed by a rather well known lady from this town years back and I've seen her and her husband a blue million times over the years, and damn don't look like she ever let anything bother her over the years... and neither will this little well known rich boy... now this is the truth I've lived it and seen how it works.. and yes just so happens mike was my cousin also... and yes about the pill thing its sad but true get caught with one of those things and its 20,000 dollar bond 5 years paper and 5-6 months in jail... DUI and 2nd degree manslaughter less than 12 hours in jail and out on 5000 cash bond carrollton ain't changed a bit... and yes this case should be in another county not here for Crawford or the marsh or the whillhoit to have the power over the not so popular beach family.... I knew the corners son would be out by today and I was rite.. crookedest
Fuc-ing town in Ky. And they all can kiss my ass

I normally don't post on this site, but after reading this entire thread I felt as if I needed to take a turn. First off, what happened was a terrible tragedy. My heart and prayers go out to Michaels family, but my heart also aches for the willhoite family. Yes, he had been drinking, yes he hit Michael. He should be held responsible for his actions. But it could have been any of us sober!! We all are guilty of texting while driving, many of us have went out and had a few drinks and thought we were "fine" to drive. What if it was you as the driver, would you want your named being bashed all over ever social site? No, you surly wouldn't. Accidents happen, that's part of life. I personally knew both of these men EXTREMELY well and I know without a doubt in my mind one Michael wouldn't agree with all this bashing because that's not the kind of person he was. Two, I know Nathan would never harm a fly on purpose. You all are acting as if he went out and had intentions on killing... And I can assure you that that's not what happened at all. We are none to judge, most are guilty of the same thing just not had to pay the price that Nathan is. IF Nathan was to get off "free" as many have posted then he will have to answer to God come judgement day. It doesn't matter how much any of us bitch on a social site, it doesn't change anything. Prayers going out to BOTH families tonight as one grieve the loss of a loved one, and another starts a chapter in life where nothing will ever be the same.

He has been charged with DUI before so apparently he didnt learn his lesson so now he should get the max sentence. And if it was someone sober they would have pulled over immediately and got that poor man help instead of driving off and letting him die. I don't know about anyone else but I have NEVER even had one drink and drove. & if you have then maybe you need to rethink it next time instead of assuming you wont hurt anyone. If it had been anyone elses child who is trying to say "poor Nathan" you wouldn't be standing up for him. & who is the 15 year old that he hit and killed? My gosh this man has been givin the silver spoon!! Can't wait for the news channels to pick up on his 5000 dollar bond!!

IT'S NOT AN ACCIDENT WHEN YOU KNOWINGLY DRINK AND THEN DRIVE. That's why he was charged with second degree manslaughter. It would be an accident if his tire had popped and caused him to swerve and hit him. Drinking and driving and killing someone ISN'T AN ACCIDENT!

Shouldn't he have been charged with DUI murder?! He knew that drinking and driving was the wrong thing to do since he had been arrested for it before, but yet he done it again and this time it ended with someone losing their life.... Look it up. That is what he should be charged with!

Someone needs to call the attorney general in Frankfort and explain how close these people are and they will move his trial or bring in an outsider it does work I did it years ago and the person ended up serving time that he never would have if i hadn't.

I have never drank and drove... It's the decision you make as a responsible adult! Everyone is just p.oed that nathan is out of jail on a 5000 dollar bond. Your bond would be more than that if assaulted someone. If he had hit a cop he wouldn't be out on bond...

You are wrong I never have know why? It is a criminal act. If the roles were reversed I can guarantee Michael would still be in jail!!

IT DOESN'T FREAKING MATTER. THE FACTS ARE
HE WASN'T SOBER.
HE LEFT THE SCENE.
.AND THIS IS HIS SECOND DUI.
And you only put 10% down of bond to actually get out, so in all honesty.$500, a car payment, got him home yesterday.
No reason to complicate things with "what ifs" or "coulda beens"
How do you know? Check your facts before posting lies. It's public record. Check for yourself how much was paid. God judges all...not just criminals, but liars as well.

I just got our HOMETOWN paper there is nothing in here about the young man that lost his life,Nothing here there about what happen, Nothing in there about the man who ran him over, ran, and then got put in jail on some very hard charges just to be set free less than 12 hours after his arrest. On a small amount at that .Really our paper has become a big joke.....This young man deserved better than this from his hometown. His funeral will be sat, Why was this not put in our paper? Shame on you.....I thought this was why they said they put it out on Thursday ,So they could get better covage. I can't tell. Everybody should spread the word. We all go and pay our respect. How many of us has come across him while buying our grocery , or saw him walking and waved? Am so mad at this one sided town. You want to know why our children our dieing from the drugs, but what about the high and all mighty that think there above the law. This is a fine example about parents taking off there apron strings. Make them held accountable for there actions. Don't sound like he was too upset if he was having a cold one right after he paid his so call 500 bond. Am pretty sure when you get a DUI, and killed someone, get out on bond, DOES NOT GIVE YOU THE RIGHT TO HAVE A COLD ONE. IF YOU REALLY FELT BAD YOU COULD OF SAID I DONT WANT A BOND, GUESS NOT YOUR OUT. Am not the law but if I knew of a person that had been arrested for DUI ,I believe when he got out I would be watching. I do believe he got more bond for his first DUI less than 2 mths ago. So if you ,we the people are fed up with this one sided town ,Lets do something about it. Stop voting these people for the people that think there beyond the law.To the Judges that sit on there thrown and think there god.We have a few judges that really care and know there job.....So what am trying to say we all can get on here and talk the talk....Lets go to the top, and put a stop to all of the good ole boy crap.

When a drunk man killed my sister
he didn't get a bond set he had to face justice although my family didn't fight for him to be sent away for along time B/c we knew he didn't intend to kill her. I liked that we had a choice . Now I believe micheals family should have a say in how long he gets or a bond so he can walk. It was their loss of someone special they are the only ones that can feel justice was served for this horrible act against their loved one. But our county is messed up and don't care about what's right

A young man with a family lost his life because of another man's choice to drink..... Michael's family has so say good bye to their son.... James shod have to pay the price of his action.... He's of age so if he drank he should have picked up the phone e and .called a cab or someone to come pick him up and Michael would still be here... but he made the choice to drive after drinking, he needed to stay in the ccdc.. he took a man life with No remorse..... he should be sentenced to life, No anything.... Texas has the death penilty maybe Kentucky should think about having it to....if u take another persons life and leave them like a racoon on the side of the road u deserve the death penilty .... bless Michael's family he was a very sweet person.
