I grew up in Louisville, and couldnt wait to get out, mostly because nothing around and so industrial and crappy.

I have since lived in central PA mountains, central NH, and now live in Sarasota, FL. I love all of these places more than Louisville. TEN X.

Other parts of KY are cool, Western KY and Bluegrass Region for instance. But Louisville is like the armpit of the state. It sux.

I go back to the ville to see my dad, and the place is worse than ever. overun with vietnamese immigrants, and all of my aquantences are standing still. Always happy to leave. I thought I was the only one that hated Louisville, but I see there are plenty of us !

Well??
well first off the people almost everywhere else i GO are warmer to you, dont get me wrong i can make friends very easily but theres an extra aded sense ofcompassion there. here its more like everyone for themselves i mean families here are horrible! and as far as things to do theresrarely any concerts especially hip hop and yea since im black i mostly like that but this city doesnt embrace it so its over for that. theres no real places or things for teens to do here so most just smoke weed n do stupid shit and become bad people when they grow up. I have distanced myself from those people though. i also hate the weather. just look at today it was 30 degrees!!! yea im trying to move to a warmer climate especially since its better for my skin. i have family in florida and LA im trying to move to one of those places where they have CULTURE!!!! the only POSITIVE culture we have here is derby n booze-brewin! i mean this place is a cultural wasteland! its so BORING! other places theres things to do every DAY! maybe alot of people will be meeting in a park in Atlanta tomorrow listening to music or goin to the beach in cali, or going downtown in NYC, what do we do? sit here because we cant even cruise or gather in groups cause cops will only break it up cause they dont want us to unite and connect with eachother! most people here are very generic and the same as everyone else as well. the only parts of louisville i truly like are here in the west end where i live because its a cool neighborhood ful of kids my age trying to get out. and if youve never realized why the black population here stays the same and the white population grows, its because we leave... and i like bardstown road. its more progressive than everywhere else and is musical and is full of entrepreneural people and unique characters

well i don't live there but have been there several times and think it's the best city in KY.. I like living in a small town myself. If you don't like Louisville go down the road to Lexington, maybe thats more to your liking...

I am actually from Louisville, so I kind of know what I am talking about. Louisville is at a crossroads. It is either going to be a footnote, or a major player in the Midwest. I currently reside in Thailand. This is a country that is really moving...most american cities will probably remain in the same condition that they are currently in for some time. The economy plays havoc on cities like Louisville, that seem to have the worst timing. Back in the 70's Louisville was called "Strategic City of the Seventies." By the end of the seventies the U.S. economy had tanked, and so did Louisville's future. The aftershocks of a failed economy plagued Louisville for two decades. A similar scenario is now unfolding. Perhaps some real visionaries need to take Louisville truely forward. It is a quaint old place that in many ways is stuck in the past. Leadership is somewhat lacking right now. Mayor Abrahamson did a pretty good job, but his cards are all played now. Louisville needs a charismatic leader, who really has a vision. Transportation is the key. Louisville strategic location should really be exploited. High speed rail should be a major priority, with Louisville perhaps being one of the major hubs for this undertaking. Unfortunately, no major effort is being made...this reflects the lack of leadership. Many leaders merely want to prserve the status quo. That is the worst position Louisville can take right now...unless it wants to remain a footnote.

Worst place I have ever lived. You have to dumb yourself down to be able to communicate. The rest you can't deal with because they are snobs. Education sucks, roads suck, weather sucks, jobs suck even more. Nothing here unless you came here to die....and I ain't dyin in Louisville.

Louisville is a major league shit hole. I lived in Louisville for five years and decided to move a bit north to get away from the place. I would rather live in a small town than Louisville and I think small towns are boring as hell. Louisville has some great stuff like entertainment, arts, shopping, food and thats about it. The rest of the city is a redneck infested shit hole. I've lived all over Louisville from Okolona to Dixie Hwy to Middletown to J Town. Frankly, only Middletown was actually halfway decent. Okolona is a bunch of idiots and Dixie Hwy was the white trash capital of America. Even J Town is seriously overrated. What a crap sandwich of a city.

Oh and one more thing, the people in Louisville are a bunch of mouthy pricks. I worked a variety of places before I moved to Louisville and never had much problem. The first day at my new job some asshole had to comment about my not being from Louisville. Always seemed that if you weren't from Louisville, you were a piece of shit. Well, sorry but I've seen a lot better places than Louisville in my life. Even Prospect, Brownsboro Road, Springhurst, etc aren't crap compared to other cities in the USA. Go to places like Bellemeade near Nashville or Mason/Blue Ash near Cincinnati or Carmel and Fishers near Indy. All those suburbs beat the hell out of anything that Loserville has to offer. Louisville is a joke and the truth is that most of its population is comprised of a bunch of major league pricks.

There are tons of snobs in Louisville's east end. And in Taylorsville. Try living in Taylorsville. At least in Louisville not everyone's related to somebody else. There are a FEW jobs in Louisville.

I live in a beach city is southern California. My entire family is moving to Lexington and Louisville area. I don't want to be out here without them and will likely follow them out there. Since you understand California, do you like it in Kentucky? Can you give me some insight. I'm in my late 20s
