Want To Work For Ford

Can anyone tell me how to get a job at the Ford plant in Louisville? Please no smart-a$$ replies, I'm serious about getting a job there. Can anyone tell me if they are hiring, or if they will be hiring in the future? I talked with some UAW members at the KY state fair, and they told me to apply at the unemployment office in Louisville. I heard the plant is re-tooling and that they will be hiring sometime next year. Is this correct? I'm out of work and looking for a job, and I've always wanted to work at the Ford plant because I believe Ford makes the best products. I have no problem with joining the UAW. I'm a hard worker and I just want a job with Ford. Can anybody help me out or tell me where to apply for a job with Ford? Thanks for your help.

I work there and all I can tell u is it's going to be a while before they hire anyone. They still have to shut the plant down and retool the entire place which will take atleast 6 mos.

I'm willing to wait 6 months if that's what it takes. I can work another job in the meantime, but I really want to work for Ford. I just need to know how to get the ball rolling and where I need to apply. Can you give me any information? Thanks!

Yes, you go through the unemployment office. They take applications for Ford as well as General Electric in Louisville. Ford is retooling as the poster said so it will be probably sometime next year that they will be calling people back to work. But you can always get your application out there and see what happens. Meanwhile, you could always try to get a automotive related stamping job or something like that. Seems that you could find a lot of that around Lexington and Georgetown for starters.

I went down to the unemployment office a little bit ago and they had a sign that read "We do not have applications for GE General Electric and FORD" So good luck. You'll problly see me working there when they open up next month...

The best way to get a job at Ford is to know someone at Ford.

Both companies use the "buddy" system. Employees get friends and family apps first. I'm sure if you hang out at Stooges on any given day you will meet some FORD workers. Best of Luck!

Maybe start by asking your uncle instead of demanding it from a bunch of random people on some internet site?

If you're lazy, a suck@ss, a drug addict, a pillhead, a whiner, a back stabber, a thief, a cheat, a liar, an alcoholic, an adulterer, A p.o.s., a slut (male or female), selfish, & most importantly a slug, then you meet all of the qualifications needed to work at Ford..........YOU'RE HIRED!!

They were accepting applications the first week of September in New Albany, drove all the way up there and they were already out of them! This was at 10 am and they opened at 8. My dad and uncle both worked 35+ years there and they made great money. I want to work there as well but it's so hard to get an application. The unemployment office downtown isn't accepting them and hasn't for awhile. And yes, a lot of ford employees hang out at Stooges . Good luck!!
