I will never forget this awesome man of God, and his talents, his wit, his incredible way of teaching his students of which I was one of many. My dad told me last night after the super bowl, that Melvin passed away and it broke my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with his wonderful, talented wife Margaret and the family. Thank you Herr Dickinson for everything you did to influence my life and my career as a concert organist and Minister of Music in the Lutheran Church. Now you are with J.S. Bach. How AWESOME is that! Just make sure that Bach gets on the organ bench now and then in heaven! God bless the family and may Mr. Dickinson's memories and legacy live on in Louisville and beyond. You will be truly missed my friend, teacher and mentor.
