I am a father with sole custody of two beautiful boys. Their mother is allowed visitation (but has missed 20 of the past 22 scheduled visits). She has since remarried and had another child. She is ordered to pay child support, but refuses. She is $10,760 in arrears. Every time they start garnishing wages at work she gets a new job. A letter was sent to her in october. A warrant was issued in January. In april, we got a court date. She didn't show, and her lawyer came and said she was on bed rest due to pregnancy complications. They pushed it back two weeks. She didn't show again. Her lawyer again said she was on bed rest due to pregnancy complications. I told the judge that was funny, seeing as how she had the baby five days ago, already calledy my son, and was planning on going to his birthday party the next day! Judge said that if she finds out that she has left the house she would be put in jail. The court date was moved back one more month. They said she could be found guilty of felony, but dropped it to a misdeameanor, added 25 dollars to her weekly obligation,(TIA program?) And has her appear again in two weeks. She hasn't paid a dime. What happens next? I can't keep missing work to go to court while they drag their feet. I am struggling to make ends meet. Her family says she cashed out her county retirement last august and bought a Cadillac SUV. What happens next? I am new to this.

I recommend you file a lawsuit to claim the days that you missed on work and for the troubles that you are having to go through the entire time that she has not paid. File it as a PERSONAL lawsuit against her not a Criminal lawsuit. By the way Good for you for taking care of your kids while the mother is a deadbeat. Takes a real man to be a DAD like that.

Another reason why we should consider making those irresponsible not able to reproduce.

How these people can sleep at night or function is beyond me.
