i just want to say i called down there and was told i would have to pay a fee to adopt and that was fine for me,and i kept calling, calling, calling to adopt this siberian husky for my other dog that i adopted from there and this is what gets me.i was told we will call you back we will call you back and you never called.so that was on you animal shelter.why not have the courtesy to call someone that has a good home plenty of yard chain linked in so they could have maybe saved 1 or 2 of these dogs.and yet you get on here and say some went out the door waging their tales and some was less fortunite and it was to late for them.you are pathetic, you need to be replaced by another worker.it's people like you who give this county a bad name.every time i come down there you was sitting at your desk whatching the inmates take care of the animals.i just wanted to say you never called and it wasn't to late their is no excuse for what you did after someone calls you 10 times or more, like i said lady from the shelter you are pathetic, and i also know that wal-mart donates alot of food to that place because i help load it one time. any rip in the bags or anything walmart sent it to the animal shelter i have gave money to support it and im sure alot of the taxpayers have, but you are to blame for me not being able to rescue that dog or any other dog, so dont get on here giving a big sobe story, because you are so full of sh-t.freedom of speech, good bye, sorry to the dog that i never got to adopt because someone would never call back!!!!!!

Wouldn't it be better to let them go rather than kill them? But I guess you all have to get your money first! I know several people who have wanted to adopt but it cost over $100 to do that!!! Why so much? Don't say for neutering or spaying because the county has a program to pay for so many animals every month. I agree pet lover...something is wrong here. I think it should be looked in to!!!

Every shelter charges a different price for adopting an animal.

But wouldn't it make more sense to adopt out more animals for less than adopt out a few for more?

Citizen, sometimes shelters will waive fees or cut them in half justt to move the animals. But its still a lot cheaper than what you would pay a breeder for a purebred.A lot of rural shelters charge very low fees since fewer of their animals get adopted.I saved a dog from being killed for 15.00 and she was a purebred rat terrier who had been used for breeding and dumped at a kill shelter.Shelters run on donations, and the fees pay for surgeries, shots, etc.

Most of you folks don't have a clue. Instead of bashing the shelter - why don't you offer to volunteer to help care for the pets that are dumped at the shelter. Stand and look at someone who brings in a dog and/or puppies and says "if you don't take them, I'll dump them on the side of the road" or "I'll shoot it if you don't take it" What would you do. In the past some people have made a big deal about helping but never show up. Big on talk but nothing on following through. I agree somethings do fall through the crack, that happens in all businesses. If someone can't afford the modest adoption fee then they certainly afford to care for the dog properly. Do something to help - not tear down please. For those that don't know, the adoption fee covers all vaccinations, rabies and spay/neuter. Call any vet and get the prices they charge.

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Scorpio

It's a frustrating and rather disappointing day because you have to cope with delays and setbacks to your plans. A travel arrangement may have to be postponed or there could be a hitch about something connected with education. You're also feeling subdued and tired, and you're longing to spend some time on your own although this may not be possible. Don't worry, this difficult mood will soon blow over.
