I have experience with him and think he is very unprofessional and rude. He took my retainer and never did anything with my case. Be careful with him!

i can tell you he has been sued by his clients and they have won monies from him. he is rude and takes your money and lets the cases sit and sit till you don't have a legal claim, but he mr. antherton is still getting rich from your retainers. stay away.

this man is so unproffessional. he has swore at me over and over. has lied about my cases. never keeps you informed on anything. all he cares about is billing you and taking cash only from you. did you know he has liens on him a mile long. he doesn't pay his bills and has a chemical dependency problem. do not hire him, you will lose your case !!!!!!!!!!

Bruce seems to have been indicted for criminal facilitation (money laundering) and thieft by deception, etc.

i checked out from a post on here that it's true this lawyer has be indicted on 5 counts. in the state of new jersey. conspiricy, money laundering, theft by deception, it goes on and on. i guess he won't be practicing law anymore. these days you can check a lawyer by going to the ky bar association, they are in frankfort. call them and they will tell you if any lawyer has had past and present complaints. i know people that have used mr. bruce atherton, and all have complaints about him. the biggest one is that he takes a retainer and then bills you, but never does any legal work on your case. he basically steals your money. iguess it's payback time. rot in hell mr. atherton...

i hired this lawyer and he was the lawyer from hell. he is rude, disrespectful, a liar, a thief. when hired he took a $2500. retainer. did nothing with my case, i found out later. all the while, he never filed! he told me he had filed the case. the clerk at circuit herself said nothing was under my name in any files there. he has no morals and is unscupilous. i googled him and found out he is indicted in new jersey and now pensylvania (dec. 08) he should be disbared. in the end i got nothing from his services, a bunch of lies.. please be careful and hire a reputable lawyer, which he is not. he has caused so much trouble, and anguish for me and my family. i now have a wonder lawyer whom i can trust.

i hired this lawyer for a divorce. i hired him 2 years ago and am still not divorced. i found out that he took my retainer of 3,000.00 up fron and never filed the court papers. i'm still legally married. he will not refund any of my money. and when asked, he swore at me. i have filed a complaint. after doing some research on him, i found out he is in trouble in new jersey, pennsylvania and tennessee. also here in kentucky. apparently he stole several business in these states. i call and he never returns any of my calls. i also learned his house was foreclosed on. i wish i had known this before i hired him, would have saved me thousands of dollars. he in unprofessional. do not hire him, he is a scam artist.

We too hired Bruce for legal/tax work and paid him cash but got no results...like running in a dream. It caused us further hardship and stress. Bad news this Bruce Atherton.

well, it finally has happened. mr. atherton pled quilty to his charges and for now will spend his time in federal prison in philly... his sentencing date is 12/08/09. he will still face other charges in new jersey. it's just the beginning of payback for mr. atherton. he has been suspended to practice law in ky. i'm just glad justice system got him.

i hired this dirt bag and all i got was bills and more bills and no services for the money i gave up front. (3500.00) he lies. he steals and he does nothing about the cases that you give him. caveat emptor...... buyer beware. i now have found an honest attorney and although i lost the money i gave atherton. i have learned a hard lesson.i checked out my new lawyer and he's on the up and up. for atherton: you derserve all the misery you will get. what goes around-comes around.

Bruce Atherton & Associtates - also Debt Restructuring of America - also My Choice Debt Management. Mr. Atherton apparently went into the debt settlement business. I signed up thinking that having an attorney would be beneficial to me. I found out the hard way that all they are good at is taking your money. They didnt return my calls or my creditors calls. Unprofessional, unorganized and unprepared. They cannot provide me with a status on my accounts. They are very good about telling you not to worry. I estimate that I have lost over $8,000 - although he is good at writing nasty letters to his clients. Beware, do not make the same mistake!!
