If you have student loans that are just a small ammount overdue, They call and harass you. They are also lying to customers to procure debt collection. They call to verify addresses stating that they are UPS or the Post office, they also call and say that they are from the unemployment office to verify employment. This is an unfair practice. Just a friendly heads up. If you are overdue by a couple of weeks and this starts it is illegal.

When you call up there, ask for Tom Wantuck, he' Senior Vice President of Asset Management and runs debt collection at KHEAA / KEHSLC - ask him for his advice (I say sarcastically) because he sure as hell can't even keep his own vehicle paid for - it was repo'd earlier this week - right out in front of KHESLC's Louisville office on Linn Station Road - hahahahahahahahaha!!!!

To file a complaint about unscrupulous student loan debt collection practices, use the following addresses and numbers:
Federal Student Aid Ombudsman
They need to be made aware of KHEAA / KHESLC's illegal debt collection tactics.

My husband is now a resident of the State of MA. Although KY may not have fair debt collection practices in place the state of MA does – and if you are attempting to collect a debt from someone who resides in another state you MUST abide by their collection laws. Apparently their collectors have no clue because the woman argued with him…. Next stop, complaint dept.
