Hated shopping there anyway. I understand the need for inventory control and theft prevention. But, I felt like I was being watched closely. Very uncomfortable.

High prices, low quality, terrible staff, no selection. Just a few of the reasons they're closing stores.

It's like a yard sale in there some times.

The Corbin store is open. The stores to be closed are in Owensboro, Bowling Green, Paducah, Glasgow, Maysville, Mt. Sterling, Campbellsville, Newport and Bluefield, W.Va.

What about Goodys? I seen on TV yesterday that Goodys filed bankruptcy and was closing a bunch of their stores. Wonder if London and Corbin will be closed?

I'm kinda suprised at their sale going on.
Usually Dawahares has killer sales. I would think if they want to clear out their merchandise they would be offering better than 20-40% off. I was hopin for 50-75%

Goody's is always busy. I think they make alot of money in Campbellsville. It doesn't make sense to close it. I can always depend on finding something there.

Dawhares will probably close those nine stores first, to clear out their stock and the stock in their warehouses. Then, after a year or so, I see them closing down the rest of their stores. They can't compete with the big chains, which have began very agressive sales campaigns, particularly in lexington and louisville.

The Goody's chain will do the same. They'll be gone completely in a couple of years. They had a good concept, but expanded too far and didn't keep up with their quality and price overall.

I went in there a few days ago and found a tank top for 20 dollars that I had originally bought for 14 dollars. I figured with a store closing that the prices would be cheaper than 20% off. If they really wanted to get rid of stuff they would take what they can get from it. Bring down the prices if you want to sell extra merchandise.

You can't expect to sell a pair of jeans for $90 here in Campbellsville. They don't even have plus sizes, that's the biggest part of Campbellsville.

Especially if you have to drive to London to get them.

I broke down & went in there over the weekend...hoping it would be an additional 20-40% off the mark down. NOPE.
I too experienced what you did--- seen those athletic pants 1 blue and 1 black w/the double white stripe down the side---- anyway.... I bought those (same brand n everything) last summer for $7. each---- seen them again and they had $11. each for em. Shakes head at the Let's just mark everything way up and then discount it game.
I'll try em again right before those doors close for good.... perhaps then there will be some REAL deals.

Also hit Goody's---bout average and went shoe crazy at both of em...... at the shop up by Dawahares got 5 pr's of shoes for $70.----> Now that's what I'm talkin bout! WOOHOO!

Dawahares can be rather expensive if your stupid and pay full price. That place is prime for swapping tags or straight up swiping. It's actually one of my favorite places to lift from because my wife can clip some steaks from save a lot and the boy can get all his football equipment from Hibbets because they let you take large bags in there. Back to the topic, I wish Dawahares would get some better shoes. The last time I went in to swap mine out I swear I almost just kept the ones I had instead of putting them back in the box. You see, I had swiped them bitchs in Lexington while Artec was waiting on granny at the Dr's last month and they were some fine kicks. Shewww i'm straying again, best of luck to the Dawahare family I hope many ppl support there store and it stays local. Would cost way to much gas to drive to Middlesboro to swipe my UK shit.

Sounds to me that you are someone that works there! Actually I have only experienced one nice person that worked there, the others were too busy talking on the phone or sitting down talking to each other.. Poor customer service, glad they are going out of business and those horrible employees will lose their jobs!
