My mom was obsessed with Snaps!(I'm also here in Oregon) I think they were made by Blue Bell snacks and sold at our local Albertsons.

You can still get them at Kroger's. The ones you are describing were fried. There were another version that were soft and baked. They don't call them snaps anymore but it is the same thing. They kinda went out of favor because they are so unhealthy.

My sister and i have spent the last 2 hours trying to locate something on these damn snack treats. Only moments ago, Chrispy screams "SNAPS" by Blue Bell. As I frantically type her words into the search bar, this is the only hit we got. Imagine our reaction, as we read the few posts here, verifying that we aren't crazy, they do exist! Thank you for reminiscing the flavors of our childhood and confirming that we truly are not crazy! We are headed to our version of Kroger's, Fred Meyer to scout those unhealthy, super tasty treats we all so remember. Please look for the results of that venture.
