Hi Okay, I met with Dr. Zimmern as well as his assistant on Apri 18, They could not have not made me feel more comfortable and ad-ease. I loved him and will be scheduling my sling removal for early July - his next available date. I do hope you are starting to feel much better. Hope to hear how you are doing soon. Joy

The risks involved in removal of mesh may quite high so it is understandable that you may need the services of a qualified and capable surgeon. Based on my readings in sites devoted to thi issue such as www.vaginalmeshlawsuitcenter.us/ , there are many such doctors in the California area. The have performed hundreds of successful mesh excisions. On other areas, you may seek the assistance of support groups which have been very active in this crusade.

I have gathered from my reading that there have already been a number of successful mesh excision particularly in California. Other states have also capable doctors. Vaginal mesh support groups in your area may be able to help you in looking for such a surgeon. You can also check articles on the subject found in http://www.zuarticles.com/author-details-19-8...

I had surgery in Dallas Texas. Dr Phillipe Zimmerman repaired my bladder-- he wrote a textbook about it. He is head of urology and a professor. I still need more mesh out and seeing dr Francis at univ hospital next week. If anyone has any info about u of l services I would appreciate it. Good luck to u too!! I will travel to univ of Arizona to see dr twiss if dr Francis can't help.
I would not have Dr Frances take it out. He used mesh in me and I have been messed up every since.

I have been going through bladder sling problems practically since it was put in. For approximately 6 months I was free of urinating on myself. At that time, it did not occur to me that the surgery failed. Not until the pain and infections did I consider this a huge problem. It just seemed like after the worst surgery I had ever had, things had just went back to the way they were.
I have been doing so much research on this issue. I know had the warnings of the mesh had been out before I had the procedure, I would have never had it done.
The only doctor I have found throughout my research who will remove it entirely in one surgery is Dr. Razz out of UCLA. I can't afford this. I live in IN. I am on disability which means a fixed income. I have Medicare and Medicaid, but Medicaid does me no good with an out of state procedure.I,keep trying to save the money to fly out there... then with such an invasive surgery, I'm sure I will need money to pay for a place to stay until I can fly back home. Then, there is the 20% I will have to pay out of pocket for the surgery and hospital stay. I need this surgery so badly. The longer it goes on, the more damage I am afraid is being done.I,need a doctor who will perform this in one surgery. Does anyone know of another doctor who can and will remove it all at once, anchors and all, please let me know. I'm afraid this may be getting to a critical point. Is there anyone who knows anything that can help me?Im desperate.Tracey

Thanks everyone for your help. I am going to Dr Ali Azadi at UL. He is one in the group that specializes in mesh removal and reconstructive pelvic floor problems. He seems very nice and I feel that I can trust him. Already went for one appointment and waiting for records from the dr that put the mesh in before Dr Azadi can tell me much about the surgery. He has to know what kind of mesh was put in for the bladder prolapse. Surgery is definately in my future .. Will keep you updated.
I'm seeing Dr Ali Azadi Sept 26th. Did he help you? Do you still trust him? Please let me know
