There is all kinds of info out there about the damage the mesh does and lawyers sueing. Not much about how to get it fixed , a good doctor, hospital, with experiance in this field that does a lot of them.

I had surgery in Dallas Texas. Dr Phillipe Zimmerman repaired my bladder-- he wrote a textbook about it. He is head of urology and a professor. I still need more mesh out and seeing dr Francis at univ hospital next week. If anyone has any info about u of l services I would appreciate it. Good luck to u too!! I will travel to univ of Arizona to see dr twiss if dr Francis can't help.

I read some articles online about bladder mesh removal and found that it may take one or more surgeries to completely remove the implant especially if it has eroded and made its way to other tissues nearby. Try searching for bladderslingrecall.us, you may find more info from that site.

I have surgery scheduled in march 5 with dr Francis from u if l - he is extremely nice and I am trusting him - feel very confidant. You should call the univ of Louisville pelvic floor program - dr Francis is a urogynocogist I have complete confidence in him:) he said it will be tough but he wants to sincerely help me good luck to you

Getting a skilled surgeon to have the mesh removed may also play a great role in the success of the procedure. I read some posts online that the mesh may be difficult to remove safely especially when embedded too deeply. Try checking bladdermeshlawsuit.us/what-mak es-transvaginal-mesh-dangerous /, it may have more info.

While there might be thousands of doctors willing to do vaginal mesh surgery including the inexperienced, there are only a few who are actually qualified to do mesh excision. This procedure is more complicated and difficult. Doctors Margoli and Raz in Califronia have been well known for this kind of operation. There might also be qualified doctors in your area. You may check mesh excision in google or read through sites devoted to vagianl mesh such as vaginalmeshlawsuitcenter.us/va ginal-mesh/complications-side- effects/

amen to that! DR ZIMMERN was referred to me by my attorney before DR RAZ was doing mesh excision. DR RAZ has also trained DR TWISS at the UNIVERSITY of Arizona, he was who i was going to see until i found DR Ostergaard and the new pelvic floor reconstructive program at the U of L, DR SEan Francis was trained in SCottsdale Arizona at the MAYO clinic. And DR Ostergaard routinely publishes in the medical journals about the mesh removals they do in UCLA as well as U of L

Hi, i agree, and i think caution is a must! but Dr Raz wait list is months, and i am just too sick and too far for that, so i am trusting in my research into the U of L doctors. They have lined up blood in case of transfusion and taken many precautions and i am thrilled i only have to wait four more days for this misery to end! good luck and prayers to yall, and i will post after surgery too.

Thanks everyone for your help. I am going to Dr Ali Azadi at UL. He is one in the group that specializes in mesh removal and reconstructive pelvic floor problems. He seems very nice and I feel that I can trust him. Already went for one appointment and waiting for records from the dr that put the mesh in before Dr Azadi can tell me much about the surgery. He has to know what kind of mesh was put in for the bladder prolapse. Surgery is definately in my future .. Will keep you updated.

I have an appointment with Dr. Zimmern on April 18. I was wondering why your are seeing additional Drs and not going back to him. Does Dr. Zimmern not do complete removal? Would you recommend him - I would really appreciate hearing about your experience with him. Thank you so much Joy

Dr Zimmern did an outstanding job I had also Craig Olsen a colorectal surgeon on hand in case bc if possible colon erosion. Dr Zimmern repaired my bladder however didn't remove the mesh but re anchored it to my sacrum I was approx 50 percent better. Hiwrver they didn't realize I rejected the mesh as an allergy thinking the structural repair sufficient since it would require a lengthy stitching session for support of prolapse they left the mesh in it was a 3.5 hour surgery - dr z office was going to reschedule for options of complete removal when I realized my funds after 5 trips were low and since more surgeons wer doing mesh repairs I looked at other options, met with dr Francis who was willing to tackle the huge mess and do the stitching I felt hope and now I am almost 100 percent with daily improvements -- sec creased muscle knits and hardness and all over swelling going diwn daily. I praise dr Francis and his whole team and can't wait to see him in a few weeks for follow up. They worked fir over 5 hours and I am extremely grateful. Dr Zimmern now works with the pelvic floor program for complete removals I live dr s and u will also !!! Congrats and please post again

Thank you soooo much for the feed back on Dr. Zimmern. I am soo scared. Everyone keeps telling me to go to Dr. Raz at UCLA....but being that you cant get to see him for months and his surgery schedule is booked out till December 2013/January 2014, I am feeling a bit of pressure to see hiss assistant Dr. Kim, who I know nothing about - so I have opted to scheduled and appointment with Dr. Zimmern. I consider myself to be one of the luckier ones. Since having the TVT-O put in for SUI in 3/2011 I have had some problems - recurring UTI's, groin pressure, pain and feeling as though. my pelvic bones are being Pulled apart, swollen Uretha and surrounding tissue...... and the most horrible setback of all -not being able to be intimate with my husband (of nearly 32 years)since the day of thee surgery!!! Of course I was immediately told by my OBYN/Surgeon that it was my age - "these things happen to people your age you know" ( I am 50, and did not have any problems before the surgery!!!) it is unbelievable, the things I was told by my surgeon - but of course there was no-way it was the mesh!!!
Right now, I just want to know if I a in good hands. I do not mind traveling to the best so if someone thinks I need to have a consult with another Dr. please tell me. Thank you Joy

I am so sorry to hear how this contributed to a divorce and put your current relationship in jeopardy. I do hope things are improving for you in all areas of your life. None of us deserve this and then to have it ruin our families.... it is inexcusable. Being that I do not know what the removal surgery entails right now - I am not sure I understand what you meant when you said Dr. Franics incision repair was hand stitched vs. Dr. Z.(??) Since I only have the bladder sling TVT-O, I assumed that it would be removed in the same manner as it was put in. Am I incorrect? Thank you for sharing with me - I feel so uneducated about all of this. Joy
