Dogwood winter, blackberry winter. But Snow? Again?
May 2 is when Uncle Sam drags my better half past go. Maybe better half will procrastinate a little bit though .. Hope so, lol, I've got some projects on the back burner thatll cost a pretty penny.,I've got about 100 of old cut stones that was used in a basement and the landscaping guy wants $5. Each to set them into a wall... Shhhh, don't tell my better half. Lol
The price of mortar laid cut stone was around twelve dollars a square foot back when I was in the business, I dont know much at all about those newer landscaping stone that you pin together. The ones I laid came from the quarry squared off, but the mason (me at the time) had to face each one of them by hand with a chisel. I'm sure you've seen those old stone walls and bridges at state parks. All this talk about rocks reminds me- I need to get started on my yearly rock garden, they sprout just fine, but none of them will grow. Good luck with the wall Anne girl it sounds like a fair price to me.

Sometimes I think science has surpassed humanity!.Now, I didn't just desert ya all but last night (Sun.) I posted a good "long", humorous explanation and.......as I thought,...it didn't fly......again. I guess it's stuck somewhere up there on Venus. Anyhow, after getting caught up with the posts, it's quite evident that we got some of the same weather. The night of Apr. 3, we got a beast from the east and another from the west that brought wind, thunder, lightning and mucho rain! It knocked out one leg on our transformer out there on the road and "FRIED" our internet modul. We had to wait 5 days for Comcast (provider) to come out and tell us what exactly went wrong! Then we had to wait for a super-brain friend of Belle's to come out and set us back up again. But all's well that ends well, or, as you say,...God is good!......so I'll try to usher this post through.... Later........MM
Well look on the bright side! You had a few days off the grid to enjoy this great spring the Lord has made for us. The electricity went off in half of the county here yesterday and stayed off for about six hours, people were flipping their wigs. I know you probably remember the days of black and white TV as well as I do, we thought we had something didn't we? I actually think most of us here could go off line cold turkey and not have much trouble with it. Good night all.

@ imposter.......you are sure right about not really missing this apperatus! I just got a real good start on a book about our American frontiersmen,(ya all's Dan'l Boone being one of them) when we got back on line. And "black and white", yessir, we were sure late in getting a TV but I remember Daniel Boone and Boonesborough played by .........mmmmmhh, well, that long-tall-drink-a-water,...oh yeah, Fess Parker. And now, I have no use for that boob-tube except for maybe a "real good" authentic Western. Needless to say, I've not seen the latest one on the Lone Ranger.
I'll quit for the night now but I'll have to say that the Dog Woods and the Red Buds sure do look pretty in the front yard. The Clamatus' are all nearly three feet up the climbers but not bloomed yet. Several years ago I put out some of all colors so there's something blooming all thru the summer. Red and white azaleas......oh yeah!

I remember the days when dad took the battery off the car and brought it into the house to hook to the old console radio so we could listen to Gunsmoke, The Shadow, and The Grand Old Opry on Saturday nights. Then on Sunday morning he would roll start the car off the hill to take us all to church. We really had something when we first got electric. lol

@Imposter.. I recall the first black and white tv show that I ever saw. We went into town one Friday night and watched a Sugar Ray Robinson boxing match sponsored by Gillette razors with a parrot singing the commercial jingle of "To look sharp and to feel sharp too... Get the razor that is made for you" LOL

I liked that old Brock's candy bar jingle they played at the theater between the Saturday mid-day double features.
Stop where you are, buy Brock's candy bar, a nickles all you pay, B-R-O-C-K buy a Brock's today.
I would go buy a couple of them too, if I had a dime.

@ Imposter & Wolf..........bout this B & W thang! We were the last three boys at home out of eight kids and every Fri. evening Pap took us all to town for Mom to get what groceries we needed. Well, that was bad enough, have'n to sit in that car while she went into the IGA store. But afterwards, we always went to Pap's folks house........so he and Grandpa could watch those da-n box'n matches......they had a TV, you see......Now,.....picture it,......three young boys who were just a scratch'n to fight after sitt'n still so long, then Mom sat us all three, spread out all over that room and said, "Now, stay there!" ......and we had to be still for them "fights." UUmmph!..Now the Gillette story. Remember how that guy would lather up his face with about two inches thick of white cotton? I, for one, have "NEVER.....NEVER" used that much shaving creme. Besides, I use the gel now and "a little bit'l do ya!"

I never had the dime, but I did go see THUNDER ROAD starring Robert Mitchum. I have been watching for it to show again sometime on Turner Classics.

Hey ya all.....before I started rambling up there, I noticed a freezing temperature warning for Harlan County tonight, Tues, (Wed, A.M.) over on the right side of the screen with all the junk. Hope it don't happen and ruin your spring. Better turn those bulbs on again for the chickens.

Freeze warning for most of Kentucky and I did turn those chicken's light on before dark. Your post on the shaving cream reminded me of the Brylcreme hair dressing. It was not so good when you mistook it for toothpaste. LOL
