@Nope: I'm so sorry for your loss. It's like a member of the family died.
@Ancient Wolf: That's too bad about your rental property. But I can tell you this. Cats are neither destructive nor dirty. I have several in my house and there is NO cat odor at all. What you had was irresponsible tenants and irresponsible pet owners. Cats do not want to go into a filthy litter box, much the same as you would not want to go into a dirty bathroom. Well, you have the option of going into another stall, and if that did not please you, you could drive to the next rest stop to find a cleaner spot. Cats do not have those options. It is the owners' responsibility to keep the boxes CLEAM. With the new clumping litter, there is no excuse. Sorry for getting on my soapbox, I just feel sorry for the bad raps the cats get when lazy owners don't do what is necessary.
That is exactly my point. Inside cats require much more responsibility from owners than a dog. I can send the dog out or go with him with my raincoat, if it is raining. I am not going to scoop up cat doo even from a litter box LOL I have a small sized short haired dog, but I also would not have a long haired big dog in my house. I just don't need or want any additional responsibility. That could also be why I don't have any women living here. But that does not mean that I don't like cats or women, I just like them to be somewhere else. LOL

This thread is so surreal. Like the man who rules the world in Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy talking randomly. It's like there is some hidden message in all this. Kinda freaks me out.

I will take my turn at jamming the system with jibber jabber while the dog is out to the tree. Such a high-tech and highly skilled process really ought to pay better.

LOL, I have to agree with you. I love my cats, but I also wish they were not here. My two daughters brought many of them, then left me with the responsibility. I can't really blame them too much, because I probably would have done the same, rescuing them from deplorable situations, starving and weak, some being tortured cruelly. So here they are.
Anyway, I also agree with you about Dog and the tree visits. I have done the same as you, going out in the rain and making use of the patch of ground next to the tree. It just takes a little more maneuvering, so that I don't accidentally go in my shoe. But nobody sees me in back of the house, particularly during the wee hours of the morning. We do have coyotes very close by, and I must be vigilant or Stein, and perhaps myself, could be seen as a late night snack. LOL

Trio of stunning Labradors, abandoned as newborn puppies, now training to become assistance dogs

Rolo, Rex, and Rizzo have found new ‘leash’ on life thanks to Britain's Jerry Green Dog Rescue Centre in the UK.

A trio of adorable puppies is getting a new "leash" on life after they were abandoned at a dog shelter when they were just weeks old.

Rolo, Rex, and Rizzo have found new homes thanks to Britain's Jerry Green Dog Rescue Centre, a canine charity which has matched the pooches with families that will prepare them to become assistance dogs for the disabled.

For the BIRDS and UNA (who loved my duck stories, lol)

This avian surfer takes to the waves like a duck to water

We have absolutely no idea where this hilariously awkward photo of a duck attempting to surf came from, nor what the real circumstances behind it were. All we know is we can't stop laughing at the feathered waverider, who looks to be a combination of coolly aloof, slightly proud of himself and completely dumbstruck as to how he ended up there. The bird's feathery plumage extends his wings into a virtual hang 10 sign, and his wobbly stance begs someone to insert bubble letters for his thoughts. What's duck for "shaka brah"?[Source]

Offspring of hen and duck brings hope for extinct bird revival

Scientists at the organization that brought us Dolly the sheep, the first cloned animal, have produced a genetically modified chicken fathered by a duck and birthed by a hen. No word on whether it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, but the researchers say it raises hope that hens could be used to produce different species, like songbirds and eagles — even extinct or endangered birds. "We could propagate endangered species or potentially bring back an extinct one if we had the right genetic material," the National Avian Research Facility's Mike McGrew told a British newspaper. Exciting or chilling? We can't decide which.[Source]

For Hempburn, glad you don't have these crazy bears roaming your area. hahaha

Meanwhile in Russia:

Giant gas-huffing bears running around Russian nature preserve

Occasionally, you get stories out of Russia that just seem made up — like this one. Apparently, bears in Russia's Kronotsky Nature Reserve have developed a taste for kerosene and gasoline, huffing it out of discarded barrels and drums before passing out in the snow. Photographer Igor Shpilenok said a few even stalk helicopters, "waiting for takeoff and drops of fuel to leak onto the hard soil." The nature reserve is home to more than 700 brown bears, some of which weigh up to 1,200 pounds, making them among the largest in the world. Enormous, gas-huffing bears: sounds like a job for Vladimir Putin and Steven Seagal![Source]

Did you see the gold from an earthquake on the Nightly News? Never heard of that one before.

Earthquake Turns Water To Gold, Scientists Say

http://www.bing.com/images/search...

Alaska is the only significant earthquake at 4.4 magnitude with California, Washington, Hawaii, Oregon, Utah, Montana are having small earthquakes. Ohio had a small one yesterday.

http://hisz.rsoe.hu/alertmap/index2.php...

Indonesia, Turkey, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, and Chili have near 5.0 mag earthquakes.(4.7 and 4.9 mag) and Greenland which I have never seen on the map is at 4.9 mag level too.

23 ridiculously unphotogenic pets that hate the camera

Had your fill of parents who whip out their cellphones and take you through yet another slideshow of the cutest baby ever? Time to fight back: Show them this gallery of ridiculously unphotogenic pets! As much as we want to think of our cats and dogs as the most cuddly critters on the planet, the fact is their disdain for the camera ruins more snaps than you can count. And sometimes they're just downright fugly. Of course, we don't help the cause much. Just what do you think gravity is going to do to a bulldog's jowls when he rolls over on his back? Click through this gallery of 23 lens-wrecking animals and see what words come to mind. "Lovable," yes. Cute? Hell, no.

lala, AW, and Nope, I hope you enjoy these pics. BTW, sorry about your loss Nope. I know it is painful. Been there.

I will be back later. I have a few calls to make and one more box of clothes to drag to the car. I collected a lot of suits, dresses, skirts, heels, purses etc. in my career and now they need to go, at least most all of them. lol I will take them to the women's shelter and hope they help some battered women looking for a job.

For AW:

Miracle Chicken Eggs Laid By Hen In China, Contained Two Yolks, Another Egg Inside (VIDEO)

A chicken in China has been called the "miracle
chicken" after it laid an egg that contained two yolks and another egg inside according to The Guardian.

The egg weighs half a pound and took the chicken three weeks for the egg to come out according to the 87-year-old owner of the bird. The owner originally thought the chicken was having difficulty laying one egg but nothing came out for almost a month.

The owner even believed the chicken was dying at one point as it tried laying the egg.

This is believed to be the fourth or fifth egg the chicken has produced.

"I'm more than 80 now, but I have never seen eggs like this before," said the owner according to The Guardian.

The chicken didn't like to eat the corn the owner provided, so instead of corn, the owner fed the chicken a diet of just rice, which is now believed to have helped with the process.

No studies have been able to prove if the rice had anything to do with the oversized egg.

An egg within an egg is actually common when talking about chocolate eggs, but its virtually unheard of to have an actual egg form inside of another.

In 2012, a chicken named Pooples laid an egg that was 7-ounces on a farm in the U.K.
"I've never seen an egg that size before. We have had bobbly ones and long ones but never anything like this," the chicken's owner, Harriet Whitaker, 8, told the Daily Mail. "I thought an ostrich had been into the run overnight."

Another one in UNA's honor. lol He would've liked this one. hahaha

Think of this anti-smoking ad next time you smoke in public, or fart

Watch this video and then try to light up without smelling the faint, poopy odor of farts lingering in your cigarette smoke. Yup, this "Social Farter" PSA just ruined social smoking forever. The oddball video is centered around the sarcastic tagline: "If you only fart with friends, you're not a farter. You're just a social farter and that makes it OK." It's all part of the Canadian Ministry of Health's "Quit the Denial" campaign, which shows just how idiotic it is to claim you don't smoke when you totally do – even if it's just to look cool at parties and pick up guys.

@AB.. best egg here was a triple yolk and it was about the size of a goose egg. Poor chicken. I did get one soft shelled egg that rolled around like jello and I had to pick it up with a spoon just so it would not make the nest sticky and wet.
