I agree with the signs of life. But being the softy that I am, my mind immediately bent toward their untimely deaths due to the cold front moving in immediately behind that spurt of tropical weather.

I had to convince myself even as a child, that I can't save the life of everything out there.

It was so strange to open that door to let the dogs out to pee, then realize that moths were flitting around. I was spellbound for a minute, I admit it.

If I see a poor little caterpillar out there in the cold, I'm going to put it in a jar though. I promise you that....

Ok, Ol Hempy can be diggin on most of willie nelson's stuff but I think 'city of new orleans' would be one of my favorites but from the highwaymen would be the song highwayman. I prefer rock, but grew up on bluegrass and blues.

Riding on the City of New Orleans, Illinois Central, Monday morning mail, 15 cars .... I used to sing that when I had a voice. But then I also used to sing "The House of the Rising Sun" by the "Animals". LOL

There is a house in New Orleans, they call the Rising Sun, and it's been the ruin of many a young boy, and GOD I know I'm one. Oh Mother tell your children "not to do what I have done"......

In my years, I have seen many variations in the weather including warm in January and snow in June, "weathered" several hurricanes, tornadoes, and a heart attack and like Roaming's parents not too much bothers me any more. Good luck on getting things resolved Roaming. GOD bless us each and every one (Tiny Tim in Dicken's "A Christmas Carol")

hahah, I kept seeing songs I wanted to hear and hadn't in a while. I love how he picks guitar. One of the best. Hilogic got me wanting to hear two other great pickers. They are the best when it comes to picking the blues...Clapton and King. Love my CD of them "riding".
Eric Clapton & B.B. King- Riding With The King
http://www.youtube.com/watch...
BB King & Eric Clapton - The King, The God and the Stars...
http://www.youtube.com/watch...
From the White House concert in 1999.
BB tells Eric that "you are getting better all the time young man"
Strange that while listening to this I looked over in the right side suggestions and among all those songs was an hour long "What are they Spraying" video about Chemtrails. They have one of "Soft Kitty" right under it. Had to laugh and click on it too. I have seen many of them, not sure I seen this one so I will save it and view it later. Weird how they throw non-related videos up on the side. haha "Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty, Little ball of fur, Happy kitty, sleepy kitty purr purr purr. hahaha
I might camp out on this site and listen to a bunch others I haven't thought of or heard in along time. Carlos Santana, JJ Cale, Stevie Ray Vaughn.....
Sun came out and melted all that those white flakes covered except for the shaded areas. Still cold though. brrrrr
Thanks for 'The Thrill,'Abeliever'; it's my favorite BB song of all time! And watching B.B. and Clapton on stage together is a thrill in and of itself! Notice their body language; they aren't just 'playing' the music, they become ONE with it! Truly amazing to watch and know the feeling. No wonder it has been called the devil's music. lol - But anything that can be so all-consuming can be a scary thing.- And on a more humorous note; I will say that your video gave me something to FINALLY compliment the president on; at least he has good taste in music and musicians! LOL

I keep wondering if another Ice Age will eventually return. I've been scared sitting here in a rickety Ol mobile home. The children and I have no safe sanctuary if it gets too terrible. With West Liberty getting struck last year and several areas around me, I think maybe of finding a house with a basement. I worry so for the children's sake than mine. Sorry to hear about that roof. Glad the parents survived the disaster. I'll take the snow and rain over tornadoes and earthquakes any day. Eastern Ky is getting more of what western and southern ky has experienced for years. Cold weather is here again. Stay warm and eat well. Maybe drink a little to clear out the Ol chest and throat. Or just because it has a pleasant taste. Hehe. I had a gin 7 without the lime which to me just complements the gin and without it; that drink sure was lacking. Safe day Folks. Try to have a good one. The birds and squirrels are probably just as confused with the weather patterns as we.And to the tractor trailer drivers down South if you see a funnel coming, just go in another direction. Worry so about the partner out there. He's on his way to Arkansas from Maryland.Good day:)
Hi Misty Eyed. I have been around the West Liberty area a few times. You live in a beautiful part of the country! Do you have a weather radio? A lot of times they can give you some warning if something is coming. A weather radio with good batteries in it is a good investment.

So far, so good! Going to have some more of that yummy Alaskan salmon so kindly shipped from my buddy. So I'm getting ready to put dinner on, the critters are all happy, the chickens laid well today and I'm kicked back.

Got all of my daily chores done without hurting anything else in my poor old body, hehe. It's a good day when you can get things done without hurting what's already hurt, AND keep from creating another 'ouch' for your body to scream about somewhere down the road.

I've been reading up on the insanity d'jour in my other local area threads. MAN, I think some of these people probably need help getting their shoes on the right feet every day.. Sometimes you have to wonder.. Saddest of all things when it comes to realizations like this is that these people are no doubt registered voters. SCARY thoughts right there, folks..

I've said it before and I'll say it again: A voter registration card should ONLY come with an aptitude test being completed and passed beforehand.. You have to pass a test to drive, yet we allow people to vote on our futures when they can't even make an educated remark about politics. How many people can sit down and TRULY tell you the difference between being Demo, Repub or Lib? I'd venture to say that the number would be extremely low...
(SMH)

Now there's a thread about that little girl in Illinois who was gunned down on the streets, the one who performed during the inauguration. Rumors are going around about her being Obama's illegitimate daughter... They say it was an inside job because the mother was about to go public. Also they're saying that the government can also use this young childs death to further the issue of gun bans now.
(Again, SMG)
(And hang it in shame toward my fellow human beings)...

For music lovers, check out a New Orleans street musician named "Grandpa Eliott" along with a now deceassed street musician named "Roger Ridley" from Santa Monica and others from around the world doing "playing for Change" and doing a mix of "Stand by Me"... a most awesome song with a most awesome message includes singers from Russia, Amsterdam, Italy, Africa and even some Native Americans.

Just Google "Stand by me, playing for change" if you are interested.

I discovered this song while I was in my teens. Most people were stuck on Led Zeppelin and Steppenwolf. Although I was and still AM a fan of that genre, I adore the old classics.

This song has been one of the MOST adored songs of my whole life: "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong.

That and Claude DeBussy's "Claire De'lune".

Here are both of them, for your afternoon enjoyment.

What A Wonderful World - LOUIS ARMSTRONG.

Clair De'Lune - CLAUDE DEBUSSY.
http://www.youtube.com/watch...

As you can see, I listen to a wide variety of music. I also love jazz and the blues too. That's why I mentioned Aaron Neville the other night. Music is one of my greatest joys in life. As are His blessings to us via our critters.

THat is him Nope, but the "Playing for Change" was the one I was referencing. I especially like Clarence Bekker's part in "Stand by Me" and the little girl dancing to Roger Ridley's part.

Very nice, but still not the mix. I think that one is a tribute to Roger, who is now deceased.

Yes, that is the 2nd one I referenced. HillLogic posted the link to the playing for change website and I believe you will like the "Stand By Me" even better.

Daily Horoscope for May 24

Scorpio

Someone needs some advice today and you're just the person to give it. Wait to be asked, though! You'll be able to draw on your experiences of life, and you might also throw in some spiritual guidance for good measure. If you have some spare time you'll enjoy immersing yourself in a thought-provoking book and then discussing it with someone who's on your wavelength.
