Hello Nope, you are right about that, frightening, yet interesting. I remember seeing the one in Florida last year. I hadn't realized it was as far back as May, but I had not heard of Louisina's until lala mentioned it. It is really something. I worry a big 7.7 mag earthquake like Alaska had will trigger the whole earth beneath us...especially the Madrid Fault. Just look at this map without even scrolling down and see all the white icons for earthquakes today, blinking ones occuring with each 60 second refresh it does. There were also those Madrid Fault areas like Tennessee, Missouri, and Arizona that had earthquakes today....
those sinkholes concern me like all of our Kentucky caves. Something to think about.

AB, if you're not familiar with history gone by, history is going to repeat itself. When Moses came down from the Mountain from receiving the law of God, he saw the people worshipping idols and sinning a multitude of sins. The ground opened up and swallowed up Korah and those that withstood Moses. Worshipping idols is what the majority of the world is doing today. Descruction is coming, it's just a matter when and where.

Hi, WKG. Thank you! And yes, I'm having a good day. Hope you are as well.

AB and Lala have given me a lot of material to look for this afternoon. I'm scouring the internet like a madwoman, reading articles on this sink that I didn't know existed... Odd too is the fact the I don't see hardly any links from major news sources other than local Louisiana stations..

I have one on my property as well. It's even listed on the geographical maps. I've noticed in the last three years, it seems to be getting wider and is deepening.
Still, no water is in it.
Yet, anyway..

It's creeping closer to the a tree line though. I staked the ground over there two years ago, so I know for a fact that it's growing. No one could have, nor would have, moved that stake.. It's got me a bit concerned, the say the least.

AB, I've been scouring the web on that Louisiana sink. Quite amazing. And I agree on the New Madrid Fault. If that thing blows anywhere close to how it did in the 1800's, we're certain to see mass casualties. Not to mention what would probably be a drastic change in geography.
The birds dying and the FEMA National Earthquake Drill last year makes me cautious of the earthquakes since we will be affected. Mostly south of me from the looks of these maps. It is scary to think the United States could actually be split in half. Even the Navy map shows it. If you get time view these sites.

They are quite interesting. Hope they still work. I had them in a file. I did a lot of research on the Madrid Fault and Chemtrails when the birds fell dead in 2011.

That is scary. You know, we might all be a basket case if we could see what might happen of the New Madrid fault blew. I have heard that the ground for a good ways around that area (probably at least 100 miles either side) will "liquify." I don't know what could survive that other than birds.

I agree Una. We are doomed in repeating history as proven everyday. It has become more of a materialistic world. Money is the root of all evil, power is controlled by money. I hope we are long gone when the SHTF. Like you said, it is just a matter or when and where. Not much we can do about it. Hold on to our faith and hope for the best. I just want to enjoy each day I am given if I can. I certainly won't be blindsighted by it. Not that naive.

BTW, while searching for the sinkhole info I seen this link and know some people were on here talking about the "boom". One poster from around the Louisville area. I haven't heard any booms since the tanks rolled out of Knox and headed for Fort Benning. A shame too, we blamed all unexplained booms, earth moving events etc...on the Armor Center. lol Can't do that anymore. I haven't heard anything, but I still see them chemspraying in this area and over Knox.

For AW, lala, Hempburn and all dog lovers. This picture is priceless.

Don't tell this dog there's more snow on the way

Some of us are lovers of the snow; some of us are decidedly not. This pup looks to be in the "disgruntled but resigned" category. And unfortunately, the forecast for the poor pooch doesn’t look promising. Snow and cold have overtaken the country; on Saturday, people were shoveling their driveways in El Paso, Texas. El Paso! Skiers may be happy, but the rest of us probably feel like this dog, whose expression pretty much sums it up. Are there really almost three more months left of winter?[Source]

Off to fry pork chops, potatoes with onions, baked beans and dinner rolls. Made a cheesecake this morning, just have to spread the cherry pie filling topping on it. Be back later see what else came up on the sink holes and if anyone watched how our country could split by the Madrid Fault earthquake due between 2011 and 2111 if not sooner.

Hope the sites opened.

AW, I know what you mean. It turned out to be a nice day after all. I would have to sit and watch you work though. I went out to just sit a bit and let the sun warm my face. Not to mention be grateful we don't have the "s" word mess some got. lol

To the decent posters, I'll be skimming the internet for some additional info on that sink and be back later.

I agree UNA. There is not a whole lot we can do about earthquakes, sinkholes, escaping methane gases, or many other natural disasters; so why worry about them but just do whatever we can to be ready or evade them if and when they do happen and leave the rest up to the CREATOR.

If we focus too much on this sort of thing, we tend to get depressed and paranoid.

The only problem with that idea is that sink holes often don't stop sinking--only the smaller ones do. Instead of getting a storm cellar, you might find yourself dropped down as far as the gates of Hell. Not a good thing. LOL
