Well he pleaded guilty with an alfordplea to stay out of prison.
He will not be able to roam the streets and be that big tough constable we all remember him as. here is more
David Whitlock has officially resigned as a Jefferson County constable as part of a plea agreement that will spare him from prison for shooting a shoplifting suspect in a Walmart parking lot in southwestern Jefferson County.

Whitlock and his attorney presented the resignation letter in Jefferson Circuit Court on Friday, and a judge accepted the plea, placing him in a one-year diversion program, during which he'll be prohibited from carrying a firearm or contacting the shooting victim.

Whitlock, who as part of the plea deal can never again seek a law enforcement position, had made an Alford plea.

I believe he has a job at a parking lot. He should be very able to prevent crooks from stealing cars.

When does he get to carry his GUN again? I hope he has all his cars out fitted to look just like the city cops. This is the firm that everyone should be hiring because of the exceptional skills Mr. David will be bringing to the organization.

After watching the video of him chasing the car on foot and then shooting at it only to find out it was for shoplifting I really question this mans intelligence.

He probably isn't violating his plea agreement but his case is typical of constables across Kentucky. There are some who probably do it for the good of their community and use common sense but they are few and far between. Even they shouldn't be performing law enforcement duties unless they have been certified by DOCJT. The position is antiquated, the liability risks are enormous, and they don't do ANYTHING that can't be done by an actual certified deputy or police officer.

Where is your trained sheriffs and jailers throughout the state , far and few between. The new law just took effect concerning constables. They are county officers now meaning they will be a big help to the smaller counties in the state and they can hire deputies if need be. You constable haters .will just have to live with the new law
