This is a lie!!!!! Starting pay at this facility is 7.25 an hour. If the starting pay at OCCC was 18.18 an hour they wouldn't have such a hard time getting people to work there!!!!!!!

"Disagreeable" is wrong, but not by much. CCA recently increased its pay at OCCC to $8.25 an hour. Federal correctional officers make 120% more, per hour, to start, with real benefits.

That's $17,600 a year,$910 under the federal poverty level. CCA announced they would pay women a signing bonus since over four out of five employees at Otter Creek is a man.

The federal minimum wage is now $7.25/hour, so they're a buck above minimum.

A nationwide suit has just been settled involving all of CCA's 66 prisons caused by their forcing employees to work "off the clock."

The benefits they claim to pay are extremely poor requiring unaffordable co-pays, premiums and deductibles.

Correctional officers at a state facility make 36% more to start, federal COs make 120% more.

Where does the money go? Three years ago, the CEO and board Chairman John Ferguson made $22.5 million. He was only making a bit above $9 million last year. One wonders how he manages to get by.

Industry employee turnover has persisted over 50% annually. In Texas last year, a study of the for-profit prisons showed they had a turnover rate of 90%!
