I've never heard of it. But I don't think that religion can be "removed" because religious tendencies are a part of humanity, at least for some humans.

agreed. Religion is a main contributor of the opression and even regression of both civilization and the intelligence of humans. Without indoctrinated religion we could begin to realize true compassion and build a better life, and a better, healthier planet. It's only purpose was to mentally enslave the masses and keep them ignorant. It is time to be done with that tyranny and that close mindedness. Anti-theist, are you aware of The Venus Project? If not I recommend you check it out at thevenusproject.com - it advocates for a high technology, resource based system that works with the planet in a healthy way as opposed to our current state of low technology money based economy and killing of our earth. They also advocate the removal of religion to further promote our critical thinking, intelligence, and compassion to others. Its really an exquisitely beautiful model.

it's kind of wishful thinking. I should say that I fully support spirituality, I just cannot support indoctrinated religious dogmas that use fear and manipulation to keep people 'in line and under thumb' and that also excuses blatantly racist, close minded, ignorant, and murderous actions and/or view points. I very seriously hope that one people as a whole become mentally evolved enough to move beyond that primitive thought process. Thats where the venus project's basis lies as well I think.

I agree and "evolve" is the key word. At our current state of development, religion is here to stay, but with education I think it can be domesticated and shoved into the closet where it belongs.
